There's this new game on steam by Edmund McMillen (Mostly known for Super Meat Boy and Gish) and it's a rare gem, it's kind of a mutant offspring of a top down shooter with the 1st Zelda game and a roguelike. I can't recommend this game enough, it's one of a kind and EVERYTHING is randomly generated, every game is a new adventure. I wouldn't say it's perfect but it has it's strengths and weaknesses but it's the kind of game that leaves no one indifferent, you'll love it or hate it, but at 5$ (4.49$ for a limited time) it's a steal and has endless replay value.

The first person who wants this incredible game will get it, I have played 215 hours and I am not even close to considering being done with it. I can't recommend it enough. I want the person to play it so if you aren't interested in the game please don't grab it just because it's free
People who might want to get this.
-Old school gamers.
-Fans of the original NES Zelda game.
-Fans of Indie developer Edmund McMillen. (Super Meat Boy, Gish, Aether, Spewer, C*NT, Time Fcuk, Coil etc..)
-Fans of Roguelikes and/or Bullet Hell shooter type games and hard games in general.
-Fans of games with procedurally generated content like Spelunky.
-Fans of games with twisted art and deeply disturbed symbolism.
Seriously, this 5$ gem is one of my best games of all time. I already own it on Steam and just bought a retail version and it came with a Steam code so I am happy to give it away.
Want.

Giveaway over, I still recommend this masterpiece to anyone remotely interested by the concept.
Greetings,
Steam... no thanks.
Had Half Life since it was first released (bought about 3 copies and ended up with the Generation release, which I still have) and since the steam idea came along had nothing but problems.
Install Half-Life (Generation Edition) and get updates from steam no problems.
Install Op-Forces (Generation Edition) and get updates from steam no problems.
INstall Blue Shift (Original) and get updates from steam... now the fun begins. Can install the orginal game, which does not need steam to play it, and play the game no problems at all. However playing via steam, with updates and it just crashes.
Is anyone at steam bothered about this "issue" not at all.
Therefore, nice idea, badly implemented. And makes me reluctant to play any steam games.
Nice thread hijacking.Originally Posted by UseLessUK

This is a very unusual game, some will hate it but personally I believe many people are being obtuse about the perma-death/procedural generation system, yeah I get it, it's not like most games people play but this is exactly why this game is truly unique and it kinda has a life of it's own because no 2 playthrough are ever the same. I have played 216 hours and can't go a few days without playing it, I hope you have fun with it. My advice is to allow the game to sprout on you because it is usually very unforgiving at first but knowledge is truly power in this game, the more you play the more you can use patterns to your advantage but to me where the game shines is the ressource management, you have to use statistical analysis to make the most out of what you can possibly get so the game is hard a first but always keeps getting easier and it's always challenging. This game has a lot of personality, you'll love it or hate it but I doubt it'll leave you indifferent.
I can't argue with that, I love Danny Baranowsky's work, it fits the game perfectly.Originally Posted by nannerdw
