That's fine with me, it really is. I just don't think they should tote that whole Realistic Shooter garbage, same with CoD, the games are not realistic.
They look kinda nice, the guns look real(ish) and explosions are close enough.
I'm going to assume that nobody really wants a "realistic" shooter that forces them to abide by current Military ROE either though.
I just hate it when I play these games and put my M16's reticle a foot under my enemy's head at 50 yards and miss him. Have these people never heard of ballistics? You aren't shooting a laser, it's more akin to throwing a rock incredibly hard, bullet trajectory is an arc.
With a rifle zero'd for 100 yards you will not put your targeting reticle on someone's head at 40 yards, or 200, and hit it. It will never happen.
At 40 yards the bullet will pass over them, and at 200 you might hit them between the naval and knees depending on ammo grains and powder load.
Blah blah blah,

Nope...I'm with Shifty. If they don't go for the objective they should send MP's to drag them outta their Mum's basements off to Leavenworth for a stretch![]()
I didn't mean the player!
Bah. They should have to serve some kind of suspension from the game type in which they acted a fool.
Not even a LONG suspension. 15 minutes would work.
I read that there is a turbo-fire mod for these sorts of games, which effectively changes a pistol into a machine gun. Hope it doesn't affect this game.
Can't belive you lot are even attempting to point out that GAMES ain't realistic...
Just dumb.. the fact its called a GAME and not a war simulation.. which would be incredibly boring... kind of gives it away..
If u want to PLAY at realism, go to the wood, dig a hole up to your neck, fill it with cold water and stand init for 3 weeks eating bugs... bravo.. your in the SAS.... not much fun though
BFBC 2 was the only multiplayer FPS I ever liked, but judging from the demo BF3 is going to be complete crap.
The beta took away everything that was good about BFBC 2. No vehicles, no destructible environments, and no balance.
First of all, the map they gave us is ****. If you could export that map to Call of Duty it would play exactly the same. Other than a few trees there was not a single piece of destructible environment. The first and last third of the map should have had a lot more to destroy. The second part of the map doesn't even belong in a Battlefield game.
There were also no vehicles, but I guess the beta is glitchy and laggy enough as it is.
Finally they got rid of the balance that made BFBC 2 so great. In BFBC 2 you had to get a head shot to one-shot kill someone as a sniper. Not anymore. Now sniping is just as easy and overpowered as it is in every other FPS.
In short, it is quite obvious they are going to ruin Battlefield by making it as generic as every other FPS so that they can compete with Call of Duty. Also why are people renting it for the campaign? Other than the pretty graphics it's going to be completely worthless just like every other FPS that is focused on multiplayer.

@Buttcheek - Supposedly there WILL be destructible environments and loads of vehicles.
The map they show is certainly not one of my favorite ones. Sniping has become far too easy, and rigid spawn points allow a single player to hold off your whole team unless they are constantly squad spawning.
The BETA doesn't encourage me to buy the game, but I know people who weren't going to buy it and decided to because they enjoy it.
