i have to say when ea finally let me play the game i realised it doesnt quite live up to the trailers visually. dont get me wrong it looks good but without the 60 frames per second that CoD runs at, its just not as smooth round the edges.
that being said, once id got used to the map i had a lot of fun playing both sides, particularly attack. it wont look as good as MW3 but the gameplay is way more entertaining. and i dont see why people are worried about a few bugs while playing the beta, surely thats the point of it![]()
I was looking forward to the beta since the vids looked AWESOME! But, of course, it felt exactly like the medal of honor beta, which I found very boring. I imagine it would be better on PC simply because of the 64-player matches. Unfortunately, I don't have a good enough PC to even attempt running it. So for me, BF3 sucks. Guess I'll just be getting Rage and Skyrim![]()
I personally think its ******g awesome, a great break from black ops. might have to get this one actually, I am merking so many people on this beta, its not that hard.
i think the beta is enjoyable but personally i just cant wait to get in a jet and fly at top speed while dive-bombing or get into a tank a wreck the place and all that other jazz.
i was thinking that too. even properly going for the objectives i just got 38k and 9d, people seem very slow at shooting. i really like the sniper outside before the tunnels, if you hang over the left side of the map (defending) and slowly move down watching the bridges you can get some fierce kill streaks. the guns feel great aswell, love the sound of the m16.Originally Posted by 420

Awesome game but too tactical/slow gameplay for me.
The graphics are def not as good as shown in the trailers on xbox.
I will stay with cod, but if you like more tactical gameplay with faster deaths then its awesome.
i think the spotter button should be removed though (its select and doesn't work good in the beta)
The sniper isn't very reliable, bfbc2 sniper is a lot better in my opinion.
Great game but not for me.
I agree with you 100%. Its not what i thought it would be. I will only be renting this for the campaign. I just deleted the beta after 1 match. Totally not my thing lol. Back to Gears for now!Originally Posted by Lumberjack

Idk about you all, but I'm all for realism and tactical play.
BFBC2 brought on the biggest aspect of that with extreme tactical advantages so you would really need to think things through before acting.
CoD delivered fast-paced action without much tactical element, but had really intense matches the whole way through and kept at it.
BFBC2 was a little slow for me, but I played it nonetheless. CoD was too fast, where there were too many lone wolves and no one cared for an objective or the security of the win for the team. They just wanted killstreaks and quickscopes.
Thankfully (in my eyes), BF3 does the best of both worlds. I love the tactical movements and all the team-based focus, and it also manages to keep things moving with constant action.
I'm a level 37 in the Beta with my Assault class nearly completely clocked. I'm lovin every second of it. Trust me, after you start mass-unlocking things and attachments/weapons, then it becomes a whole new game again. Each subtle difference to a gun is a new gun in its own. I'll admit, I was frustrated when I first played a few games. There was much dying and it was too fast, but that was only because I was comparing it and expecting it to be like BFBC2, which it wasn't. After you adjust to it, then it becomes rocking.
Sure, the graphics weren't as good as they were on the trailer (EA is just hyping. Every company does that, especially Activision. More than anyone.) and not NEARLY as good on the PC, but the Xbox is already known for poor anti-aliasing. They have to sacrifice a lot for it to run this good on the xbox. The rest of everything else (lighting, smoke effects, scale, destruction, etc...) is taking a huge chunk of the pie from the xbox.
The gameplay itself feels good and natural. Better than CoD imo. CoD is too fast and too jumpy, and it's too easy to do too good. BF3 feels like a game where truly the GOOD and SMART prevail, not the CHEAP and OVERPOWERED. And yeah, glitches and bugs are abound in the beta, of course. It's a beta. That's what it's there for, so don't complain about them. And besides, Operation Metro is just one map. The full game will have tons more maps of varying sizes, with different strategies and vehicles and whatnot. Metro is a very Infantry heavy map. Maybe the infantry aspect doesnt appeal to you all... yet. I'm sure they are tweaking and pulling many things to make it as good as possible.
I like EA better than Activision. Based on Activision being blood-sucking parasites who repeat process with each block-buster they come out with until it's inevitably the downfall of said franchise (i.e. Guitar Hero, Call of Duty...). CoD is slowly falling by the wayside. With Infinity Ward out the picture for the most part, I doubt they will be able to keep doing what they're doing. If the CoD after MW3 uses the same engine again, it will flop. If it turns out to be bad, it will flop, and if they try to recruit a new development team to make the next big changes to CoD by next year, it will flop. MW3 will be fun, and it will beat BF3 by sales. But as far as thought, innovation, and progression into technology goes, BF3 is the winner. It was harder to make, harder to play, and is therefore harder to succeed (Unfortunately).
But hey, I'm just ranting like a ****** at 2:14 AM with nothing else better to do... Except BF3.
I like BF3 because of the team aspect, since I am a team player who usually plays for the win. It really comes down to the person. Some people have never really played for the win, and MW3 is most likely the game for them.
Also, if there is anyone who enjoys the Beta and wants to play as a team and kick *** with me, then please do so.
I'm always looking for some good team players!
Coo bean.
You know what? Based solely on Idol's suggestionthought your Xbox playing was indefinitely removed?! Update your biography thread!) I will give BF3 a bit more of a chance.
I do not like the aiming. I have fired an M16 on 3-round burst and an M4 on fully automatic MANY a time and never had that much bullet spread.
I have fired a (Romanian) AK-47 on single (due to BATFE rules) literally thousands of times and don't get nearly the same firing characteristics as what is found in the game.
I don't like how the player's character seems to throw grenades out of his chest.
With these issues is mind, this game can be awesome fun IF you have a team of people who aren't just looking after their K/D Ratios.
Being the only person on your team actively rushing objectives sets you up for nearly 10 minutes of rage. Watching your team stay put while you keep getting dropped because you can't single handedly take out that 5th guy is sure to cause some broken controllers.
This works on defense too, only it's even more maddening.
I have literally seen people fall way back as soon as the alarm sounds. Why?! If your team can successfully unseat the attackers and defuse the bomb then there is no reason to fall back.
In the ARMY (and Marines) failure to at least try to defend or take your objective, and blatantly running away, are grounds for Dereliction of Duty, Failure to Follow a Lawfull Order, and/or Battlefield Cowardice charges.
Those people would, at best, be removed from duty pending psychological evaluation, and, at worst, placed into an ARMY/Marine prison (such as Leavenworth) for as long as UCMJ dictates or orders.
These games, searching for realism, need to allow players to rate and/or have charges filed, in the game world, for players who actively play wrong.
Until there is some form of punishment for acting like a tool there will never be "realism" in today's Military-based FPS games.
/End Rant
completely agree about people not going for objectives, drives me insane.
but, its a game shifty. thats why the guns dont fire exactly like they do in real life and thats why there is no punishment for playing the game how the player wants to play it.
they may be searching for realism but unfortunately: sales > fun > authenticity
