The open Beta of Battlefield 3 is now available through the Xbox 360's dash. If you don't see it there, never fear, you just need to navigate through the Games Marketplace to the Demos section.

If you are a CoD fan, why not give BF3 a go? It's got some different game mechanics, including vehicles and destructible environments.

Sick of that guy camping on the stairs in the house on the corner? Jump in a tank and bring the building down on top of him.

The absolute best part of the FREE Open Beta is that it's FREE.

If you like FPS games, give it a go.

For full disclosure, I did NOT enjoy BFBC2. I am a CoD fan, but after the 3rd iteration of "Modern Warfare" (Which they called "Black Ops") I have decided that I am not paying $60 for the same game with a different cover.

My Internet is slow. I'm currently at 70% of the 1.30gig Beta. Let people know what you think of it, I'll post my thoughts in this thread.

Oh and how do you use the flashlight? I think the lighting on that is impressive.

I got the PC beta and I think the game is garbage. Nothing but crashes and sluggish gameplay. The fact that I needed a browser to start the game was a HUUUUUGE turn off and I already requested my money back on the pre order.

I'm going to wait after it releases to see if they fix the crashing issues, lag and horrible screen tearing.

I got a beefy computer so that should not be the problem, but looking at the videos the console versions are even worse. I'll wait for lens of truth or something like that to show game performance after release.

Yeah I replied already.

The game is BFBC2 with better graphics. But I had waaaaay to many problems. I know it's beta, but it's also close to release, so it comes down to 1 month for them to get their act together on pc.

I have a feeling in the end the xbox version is going to be the better one. Not in terms of graphics but performance. You don't get the 64 player battle of doom but the online lag was horrible on pc. Hopefully they won't pull a Brink. Great game horrible launch.

I dl'd it about 9hrs ago, had 1 game and deleted it lol. Never a big BFBC fan but had high hopes for this after all the footage. May get it again and give it more of a chance but first impressions weren't good.

I have a horrible Internet connection, that being said, I had no noticeable lag on the Xbox version.

The graphics aren't up to my expectations, and it can be difficult to tell Friend from Foe.

There were no vehicles, that I saw, in the Beta. Rush is the only play type available, and some asswipes already have enemy spawn points memorized. You have no spawn safety, so some ******* will find his way there and knife 15-20 people before he finally gets nailed.

Sadly, I will also be canceling my preorder.

I dl'd it and now i cannot get in a match due to lost connection with EA.

Server overload probably so ill check it again tomorrow.
