No Widescreen TV... Am I missing anything?
So, I just have a standard tube tv about 20". I know its crappy and obsolete compared to new HD tvs, but I really wanted to know if I am missing anything in Trials HD by not having a widescreen TV? Would I be able to see more of the track if I had widescreen? Sometimes I feel like I have to anticipate whats coming next when I'm riding and have a hard time looking ahead to see the obstacles coming up if I'm moving real fast.

I sucked until I got a 32 inch full HD TV.

Widescreen is one of the perks, but it is perhaps the least significant.
If you get a modern TV, you will enjoy higher resolution (very important) and much richer colors (very important). Motion plus is also a big score for the newest TVs. The old ones had faulty Motion Plus, but the new ones - at least the Samsung series D 6000 and above - have excellent motion plus even in gaming. (Well, with my one I had to set it to "clear" cos "standard" was faulty). I also get 3D-like audio out of my TV speakers, which is also awesome. And getting say a 32 inch screen will improve the overall image too.
But, no, in widescreen you won't see more of the track

Nope. HDTV's don't show any more of THD than your TV. You are missing out on the full beauty of the graphics and fluidity, though. Plus your TV's not all that big. I went from a 25" standard def TV to a 32" HDTV and HOLY CRAP the difference is tremendous!! Get the best HDTV you can afford. Mine was only $280 and I love it.

You are missing out on being able to read the text. THD has really small text that's extremely hard to read on an SD TV.
