Whilst I normally wait for iPad games to be discounted, I like the idea of DrawRace2 and bought it... Its slick no doubt, but there is something which immediately annoyed me.
It follow the "collect medals to advice" concept which is fine... And in order to progress to the next Skill level you need to collect atleast one medal from each race.. And I honestly believed that the medals would be based on things like
1. Finish 3rd, 2nd, 1st (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
2. Finish in a given lap time
3. Get X balloons
4. Do a lap without crashing
5. etc etc etc
All that kind of stuff, which we have grown to expect from this kind of game.. But instead of this, we just have to repeat the race with an additional Opponent to collect the medal and this frankly gets boring.
I am not expecting this to be changed as it too late now, but I am seriously disappointed by this.. I have only completed "Rookie" so far, but already I have lost the "have another go" feel to try and get through the levels.
Am I alone? Does anyone else think this?

I didn't mind so much. There's no real way to "crash", and it is a racing game.
It seems more like the Career is a long tutorial allowing you to unlock cars and tracks.
The real fun comes into play when you start participating in Friend Challenges and the World League.
I am certainly not disappointed in the $1 I spent for this iPhone game.
Don't get me wrong, I am not disappointed (although since I am in the UK and am using an iPad, mine cost almost 4x yours at £1.99).. But I have never played a game which forced you to race against an increasing number of opponents and didn't seem to have any interest in beating laptimes. Forgetting my comment about "crashing".. That was just an idea.. But certainly I would expect a medal to be awarded for beating a certain lap time.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
Infact, this brings me onto another point.. I know you bring up the "Crystal" submenu and see scores and times.. But there doesn't seem to be anything in the game to show you that you have beaten your best lap time.. Infact, there is no mention of laptimes at all.. It just seems odd that as a racing game, there appears to be little focus in 'speed', rather than just 'winning'.

I agree, seeing your fastest lap for each track listed with the track would be a great improvement.
In fairness, you can see this by clicking the "Compare with others" button after the race, where you can see your "Current Score" at the top showing your fastest race.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai

Its a racing game after all, and 'lap times' for me is the most important thing!
