Okay, to any of you out there, i want to know if mexicans that live in the capital of mexico, actually stop whatever their doing and just start taking a nap at 2:00 p.m. everyday?
I heard this alot as a 5th grader and i wanted to know if it was true?
P.S. I dont mean to be racist in anyway im just serious.
Its not called a nap, its called a siesta! Haha but yea this would be cool to know i guess. But if not oh well haha
2PM? That's when I used to get out of bed - good times.
No, they don't. And regardless of whether you meant it to be or not, it's kinda racist. It's a racial stereotype.
Kinda like saying all Irish* people are drunks who love eating potatoes.
*I can say it cause I am of Irish descent. Hahaha.
Yes siestas are a real thing, around 2 most take naps or breaks, the point is to get indoors out from the heat. Mexico is closer to the equator than Texas or Arizona if that means anything to you, and it gets extremely hot in the afternoon. So it's not out of laziness that they go indoors at 2.
And this goes in off-topic btw.
Well this was a serious thing, I heard this in fifth grade and thought about it again, and it is true that in most places school gets let out at 2 so they can all go take naps or rest for like an hour, and if this was meant to be racist how could it be? I'm not stereo typing or anything?Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai

A few countries have a siesta, to escape the heat.. Spain does for a start. And I would as well if it was 120 degrees at work
****. I've worked in 120 degree weather while wearing body armor.
