Well, what do you associate with ignorance? ANBA's word, not mine. Anyway, it was a joke, since ANBA's statement obviously doesn't refer directly to the forum members. And the statement is wrong anyway. It should read "ignorance begets arrogance..."
I havent been much into this riddle. But it seems its very frustrating and i dont really care to take part in it. I hope RedLynx just tells us tis big answer, if there even is one, before Evo comes out.
Anybody ever think that the answer to this riddle, is that there is no answer? Maybe this is a joke the entire time. Maybe there is no answer at all and this whole thing is a big joke to just make us all think that there is an answer to a riddle WE DONT EVEN KNOW THE QUESTION TO?!?!
I mean this may be a far fetched assumption, and completely wrong, but hey, who knows![]()
I didn't read ANBA saying 'Dumb asses' so no, it is not his words... You're interpretation is fair but if you are joking, you need to either make it funnier or use someOriginally Posted by Starfire999![]()

I should clarify ANBA's comment and quote a little further.Originally Posted by Starfire999
The quote is not wrong, it should not read 'ignorance begets arrogance'. The quote is taken from 'The Descent of Man' (1871) written by Charles Darwin.
The full quote reads: [i]"It has often and confidently been asserted, that man's origin can never be known: but ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by sciencei]

What Charles Darwin was saying was that ignorant people are often much more confident than they in fact should be. They are often more confident that knowledgeable. Those who don't know much (dumb asses like us) are much more reserved with our judgements and we are the ones who are much more likely to suggest something will never be solved by science...
As a quote, no, as a statement, it would make more sense with my clever alteration.![]()
Nah, I like ANBA and Darwin's words better than yours.
It reads better because "confidence" is polite English. That's all.
I think thats the point.. Darwin was not trying to be polite!Originally Posted by Starfire999
