Quick question.

In trials hd, going down hill and letting gravity take you is faster than accelerating which slows you.

On the videos we have seen so far, people don't seem to have the same effect and are keeping the rt button pressed going downhill and going faster than the bike can go.

Does trials evolution have the same downhill physics regarding speed of bike and speed of gravity or momentum? And will trying to accelerate slow you down if your going faster than the bikes top speed like in trials hd?

I tested this on one of the tracks at gamescom and to me it seemed the bike was going faster at that particular point on the track (and then flying further after the following ramp) than it was in previous attempts when holding down the trigger to accelerate.

In summary, I'd say yes - it's the same/comparable to THD.

Yes, coasting is still faster than accelerating on large downward inclines.

Like one of the devs said, Evo will feature adjustable friction for each object/surface. So it'd depend on the track, I'm guessing.

I have a feeling some of the videos you may have seen were by some lesser-skilled people who were unaware of that fact.

That is exactly what i was going to say.
Almost all of the videos we have seen of Evo are from riders that suck, that probably dont even play the game and just tested it. so they probably dont know about this downhill physics thing. So thats why we havent been able to see it.

Out of the pit, which is a completely uphill track. Were talking about downhill physics. So JJ's video doesnt pertain to this.
