While I agree that probably 98% of the time the leader that never faulted or lost points would still get the most points, if everyone was just behind the leader by a bit, then all faulted right before the last checkpoint, then all spawned with the leader at the last checkpoint, then proceeded to all beat the leader, I would be pretty pissed if I was the leader. That was not a sentence, but hopefully you get the point.

That's very true. I don't know how the screen will work with XBL but if going "off screen" will take points away then I would have to imagine that everyone has to share the same screen for it to be fair online. I don't see why they would make two very different scoring systems for local versus XBL. Well, I see WHY they would do it, but I don't think they will.
