Nytmair's Creations ["Pink Frogs" - NINJA] [March 2nd]

Welcome to my custom track tread.
Feedback (good and bad), and videos are welcome.
If you would like to add me on xbox live to get my tracks, please message me as well. I decline random requests.
    Enjoy!

"Venn" began as my first attempt at building a legit custom track. I had a drive line basically finished and it was a decent medium/hard course. Since I had no idea what I was doing, I somehow deleted it. In my fury, I decided to rebuild the line in a fairly similar fashion, but wanted to take my aggression out on the rider.

"Rehabilitated" was inspired by xProfessi0nal. It consists of the first driveline I ever created, which I made the first time I ever entered the editor back when I bought trials. I haven't touched it in over a year, but recently resurrected the driveline and set it in a completely new atmosphere. The driveline is entirely untouched from the original. See here for a side by side comparison of the before and after: http://youtubedoubler.com/1tmz

Inspired by Attica Dominatus, "A.D. II" is the first track where I hit the object limit. I took a lot of time to make a much more detailed track as compared to my previous.

I love the flow of this track. The underground portion isn't totally straight forward, but when you fly through it smoothly, it is definitely satisfying.

OMG I wish the object and file size limits would go die in a fire. I had an enormous amount of detail that had to be removed due to the limits. Overall, it is a fun, fast ride.

A "just for fun" track, build in about an hour with my wife directing me along the way. Tip: GO SLOW YA DUMMY

This is slightly inspired (or at least it was at the very beginning) by "Contained" by Jarr. It is slightly green, and I tried to work on a line that isn't super easy to hit the flow.

I have been playing more and more level 1 ninjas lately, challenging myself, and so I decided to try and remix one of my tracks and turn it into a ninja. I think it turned out pretty well, and if i get good feedback, I may do this to some of my other tracks.

My first attempt at making a ninja track from the ground up, as opposed to remixing one of my previously made tracks. I was originally aiming for a level 2, but I think it is teetering between lvl 2 and 3. Thanks to ahhme2 and Kyoshi for the name.

Not too bad. I like the coloring on your other track better. Really nice. Honestly dude you should fix up that other one so everything isnt floating and put some detail in it. It has a smooth and really fun speedrunning line.

This new one on the other hand. Not too shabby. Obstacles are fun. They are like an in between extreme and ninja. Some just extreme. Not too bad though. 4 faults is my best on a few runs through. I posted on thd.net. Can probably 0 fault it. Idk. We'll see

Hey man, glad to see you took a plunge into the editor. For a 1st attempt, its pretty good. I went ahead and made a video for ya. Its my 1st 0 fault, so I am sure it will be beat. Your video of Venn

As promised, I'll try and give you some good old fashioned honest feedback.

First thing I noticed (right away) is your lack of foreground and background. If you dont have ideas for a background, do what I do. Add lots of clutter. Scaffolding with barrels and boxes and stuff on it, I beams and wood plankes leaning on walls, stacks of tires, whatever. Fill it up, give us something to look at! Also, learning to use the lights can add a TON of atmosphere and make it look better. For me, I add as many lights as I can without having lag or light glitching. You did a good job with making the objects on the ride line look good. There were a few instances of things hanging out there with no supports under them. A good example is the last platform before the finish line. Its just out there, defying gravity. A few planks at a 45 degree angle under it for suppert gives it more believability.

The obstacles were well designed, nothing really stood out as annoying for me. The second half of the track is easier than the first half by a long shot. I like the way the part where you fall down played out, once you know how to do it, it feels cool. Its just a pet peave of mine, but I like my extremes to be difficult because of the obstacles, not hard to avoid explosives. I feel like its kinda cheating as a designer to rely on bombs to create difficulty.

Its hard to give pointers on the "flow" of the track because it is a more difficult extreme. The majority of people play these tracks on a checkpoint to checkpoint basis. I would love to see you attempt a medium or hard rated track. I think a good "flow" is one that is designed to kinda slow the player down, make him work for his fast time. If you design it so you can land smoothly from all the jumps, everyone will get a fast time rather quickly. Just something to think about.

Awesome. That was fun to see someone else play my track

I totally agree with you. I really had no clue what to do in terms of decor around the track besides a few things here and there, so in the end I gave up. Probably not the best decision, but I wanted to get my first track out in the open for people to try and give me advice so that I can make my next one better. Decor is definitely something I need to learn about more and take more time on next track.

Understood. I definitely made use of bombs to increase difficulty here. I tried my best to make it not end up "cheap", but some parts definitely are. haha... also, you should've seen the underground portion of the track before today. it played out like an medium or easy track, so it's better than it was at least!

This track actually began as a medium. But like you said, the track sort of went together and the jumps were rather easy to string together and keep up speed. ... Then I deleted the whole track, became extremely pissed off at all my lost time and effort, and decided to be a jerk and make a harder track. Per Professional's suggestion, I might take this short track (really only a few ramps) I made a long while back and make it prettier.

Woah long post..... Thank you for your feedback. It helps

Thanks bud! Do you really thinks it's ninja? It's hard for me to tell since I know the track like the back of my hand haha.

I think I might take your advice and go back to that speedrun track and see what I can make of it. It could be a nice medium short track.

Dont take my "bombs" advise to heart too much, its just my preference. Build whatever you want!

Also, I wouldnt say its a ninja. I got 5 faults 1st run, then the run I posted in about 15 minutes.
