When the people fear the government, its Tyranny. When the government fear the people, its Liberty. This is all the police brutalites from 2010 and only 6% of what has been reported and caught on video.
But you know, there's a huge difference in the people from 30-50 years ago and today.
Children then were taught to respect the police.
Children today don't get the same message.
Police 50 years ago weren't afraid to do traffic stops for fear of being shot because they pulled some ignorant thug over.
I've watched quite a few "brutality" videos where idiotic people are resisting arrest, lying, and/or physically attacking police. When you do those things, you should expect to have a bad day.
I saw a video once where a young woman was screaming and cursing on a public sidewalk (that's disorderly conduct) and when asked to calm down and stop, she screamed and cursed at the cop. The cop asked for her information and she told him to F off and pushed him.
That's disorderly conduct and assaulting an officer. 2 offenses that the police have the power, and right (in the USA) to take you into custody for.
This officer tried to get her to sit in the back of the car and she resisted, kicking him and punching. Another woman jumped on the cop, the officer pushed his 2nd attacker away and when she came at him again he punched her in the face.
People claim that THAT is police brutality.
It is not.
It is ignorant people who feel that they have the power, and right, to do whatever they want no matter the laws.
If you break the law, resist arrest or run, and then catch a solid beating, then you kinda deserve it.
If you conduct yourself in a civilized manner, and act like cops are humans too (they are) then you won't have problems.
Are there bad cops? Absolutely. Every profession has people that totally suck at the job doing it, but it's not the majority.
@Boris - They aren't there to "Serve and Protect" you as an individual, they are there to serve and protect the city/state/county in which they are employed.
Does Screaming at an officer really = 6 punches to the face? (Like everyone in this video recieved)
Officers are equipped to deal with those situations, they can use pepper spray if they feel threatened, or their gun is worst comes to worst, but you cannot justify them smashing peoples faces for minor things such as participating in riots, or shouting foul language.
Cops get power hungry, and they know they can get away with it too.
