Track Pieces moving foreward and back

Hey I am trying to get into the track building and i know alot about triggers and physics but i cant seem to get pieces to move at all, unless its the lock to driving line trick. I am trying to get track pieces to move forwards and backwards, like for instance, The Elmonator uses this feature alot in his tracks, with ramps sliding towards you and big floor pieces moving forwards when you ride on them. I have alot of good ideas for tracks, but just cant seem to figure out how to put them together. If anyone can help please let me know.

Re: Track Pieces moving foreward and back

In order to make an object slide its very easy. Take an object, place it down where you want it, then copy the object and take the 2nd one and move it to the side a bit. Make sure they are inside of each other about half way. Then turn physics on one of them and watch it move.

From here its just all about moving the objects around in order to get it to work how you want it. You can do this with almost any object, as long as it cannot explode/break. There are ways to do it with those but it is far more advanced.

As for now, screw around with what i mentioned earlier, and if you still cant seem to make it work then try to have somebody else explain it, if not i can always try and make my 1st tutorial!!!

This is a very popular question.
By the way, I LOVE ELMOS TRACKS!!!
