It's like seen and scene, they are both pronounced the same, but saying something like "have you scene my brain" is an ignorant statement.

The words aren't really interchangeable, the same idea goes with "your" and "you're". "Your" is possessive, as in "your dog". "You're" is a contraction of "you" and "are", as in "you're a dog".

They mean different things, boy-o.

You're = you are. As in "you're an idiot for not knowing the difference"
