Yeah there was a console update, not sure what it did though!
The console update is for something that will be changing (possibly a new dashboard) later on this year. just type in google: xbox live update 19th july

Like HD said, I've been hearing about updates for YouTube, Bing, and furthered support for Kinect.
There was an update last month, maybe 2 months ago. Depending on where you are from, this may have just been rolled out in your area.
It was a mandatory update that prepared for subsequent growth of the service. Also, the Anti-Piracy 2.5 scheme was updated. The new xbox kernel is 2.0.13599.0

Me gots a console update as well.
But my internet was sucking so i had to reset it then it worked fine.

Not really. I'm actually a modder myself. C4eva will create new undetectable firmware to play burned games. I don't have a flashed console so it doesn't matter to me.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai

Yes, there are a lot of people who thought they were undetectable who, once again, suffered the wrath of the ban.
I think the update is to prepare for the arrival of kinect avatars later on this year.
