    Future competition idea

So i was thinking back about the UCCC2 competition and was thinking, If somebody won at least 3rd in a previous track creation competition, they should let other people have a chance at winning. Im not trying to be mean, but I think that other people should have a chance.

IMHO, I wouldn't want any competition that I enter to have a handicap. I understand the "fairness" argument, but I wouldn't feel the same sense of accomplishment if I won if I knew the best players were not competing. That's just me, though.

    Re: Future competition idea

i see your point fallen but i disagree with the idea.

i once spoke online to someone called 'deranged sniper', he plays trials but doesnt come on the forum im sure some of you know him.

anyway i told him about my Groundhog Championship idea long before i actually did it and we both agreed 420 (deadphish) was favorite to win (which he did).

he then suggested that i should limit the contest to other riders, not quite at that level. no murdocs, no ko syndicates etc. so that it made things more interesting. i said no basically for the same reasons shoebox mentioned.
a contest where the best arent allowed to compete loses its value, and its not something id want to see even if it did bring new people into the spotlight.

i think it applies even more so to contests regarding track creation. just because some people have done consistently well in track-making competitions does not make them better creators than people who didnt do as well.
it just means they made a better track for that particular comp.

for example i dont think boris has won any prizes for his tracks and his are all incredible

    Future competition idea

With how close the UCCC2 was this year in terms of points, I don't see this as being a very big issue.

    1. The UCCC will never limit entrants in this way.

    2. People could get around it by creating a free account.

    3. If you are looking for "The Best" tracks, why would you effectively ban people from participating?

    4. The UCCC has had 6 different winners. Nobody has placed twice yet, and if they did, it would be deserved.

There are many builders who create consistently great tracks, from Pro to Loch, Red to Mage, Dosto to Lumberjack.

As a contest host/sponsor, you want those names to enter. You want to play the best available, and by having those "Top Names" compete you force other builders to step up their game if they want to place.

The 1st UCCC had about 100+ throw away tracks. The UCCC2 didn't even get that many entries. Some people boycotted the contest because they don't like me, but hell, Dosto placed and all he ever does is tell me I suck.

The UCCC will always allow anyone to enter (as long as we can get prizes for your region) regardless of XBL Gold, Forum Standing, or Group/Team Affiliation. We will not alienate part of the community by not allowing them to showcase their talent.

Even if we weren't sponsored by Redlynx, TrialsHD.net, and TrialsHDfan, we still wouldn't point a finger at people and say "You're too good, you can't enter".
