I see what you're trying to say but I don't think its that cut and dry. There's few people who are able to take world records like you said, but there's also people who aim for the highest spot but are not able to take it (like me). I may only be in the top 2000 on most tracks but I'm very much competing on the leaderboard. I also wouldn't consider myself to be "pro" (can't think of a more suitable word), but I'm nowhere near being a "noob".

So where do you draw the line? There are surely people who are ranked a few thousand below the top spot who make an effort to improve and I wouldn't say that they're "noobs" or "not in the competition". I think it's more like a big gradient from the top spot to the bottom spot. You can't really draw a line anywhere.

I agree with your point though that the number of players on the leaderboard doesn't have anything to do with the significance of the leaderboard. If a few million more players are added to the gradient, the top rank remains the same.

You're right, some people take too much pride in the top leaderboard spots to the point where they aren't playing the game for fun anymore. The same can be said for all games though. Doesn't matter how many people are playing it.

@ warlord.. yes I'm still competing just with the gts close to me.. ie if I'm ranked higher overall than someone but 500 places behind on a trac, I think I should be able to beat them..
And I don't think HD will just be forgotten.. played less.. but not left out.

It's not about how many players are on the leaderboard, it's about the quality of the run.

If Lestropie was the only person playing Trials HD would he be any less talented just because there aren't millions of noobs playing as well?

Very Valid Point... Ever Played HS Football? There is a reason they don't let 5A teams play against 1A teams. The bigger the school, the more students, the more "talented" students they will find. A lot harder to become the Starting QB on a 5A team than a 1A team... That was my only point I was trying to make.

But u are right, the majority of trials riders aren't good enough to compete for the top spots anyway. I think I have a decent rank, and I still suck. I don't even have gold on all the hard tracks yet....

It amazes me how much pride and joy certain people get from this game... I play it for fun... Not to build up my EGO on a game that means absolutely NOTHING in the REAL WORLD... People Like GlobalShockWave and High Deff make me laugh... It's just a game fellas... It's an Arcade Game at That... How about taking over the LB's of a real game that has more than 2 millions people playing it... Enjoy your top spots, once EVO comes out they won't mean a DAMN THING...
