I don't agree with tournament track times replacing single track times. You're playing a set, not a single track. A single track time isn't the goal.

I could REALLY go for Tournament Replays though.

You spell it yourself - it's frustrating. Thus, a FAST restart option would benefit everybody trying to go for the best result, minimizing said frustration.

Obviously i'm the minority of one, so Redlynx will likely make it as easy as possible for us.

Maybe we just feel differently. When i 0 fault the beginner or easy tournys, even with a top 25 time, it's just no where near the "**** yeah" feeling as when i get a good time on a harder tourny after trying for days. and the fact that i can't restart immediately does increase the sense of accomplishment.

I disagree. AJ is likely saying "you get what you get". but again, having to deal with the current restart is a hill to climb in-itself. So much so that there's a number of good riders who don't do the tournys, not because they can't 0 fault the tracks, but because they can't or don't want to deal with the restarts even though its only a couple button pushes.

By your reasoning they might as well add in the same questions and button prompts for tracks too, or just make you play the track all the way until the end regardless of if you want to restart because you messed up the beginning or not, that way you 'earn' those ranks too.

i believe it's slippery slope he's using, but i'm wrong all the time on that stuff.....if i say you earn it more because of the restarts then i must want the whole game to use the tournament restart.

You guys can twist my words all you want, but there's just no way i suggested what AJ said. I'm talking about the tournys, and to extrapolate that i'm suggesting or wanting the whole game to be like the tournaments is just wrong.

Which is exactly why a FAST restart option would benefit everybody - in a tournament it doesn't really happen that you score a killer section because you drive more cautiously in the first place.

That's fine, you say fast, but you could also say EASY in that sentence and it would mean the same thing. My point through the whole thing has been i enjoy the fact that it's not easy, maybe not alot when going through it but at the end when i beat the tourny the fact that it wasn't as easy as it could be adds to the pride or satisfaction. Maybe that's a little too sado-masochistic an idea for some people but it's what i think.

Ender, if a track is difficult only because it's extremely laggy or has terrible cameras; should it even be considered difficult?

That's how I feel about the current tournament reset interface. It's frustrating for all of the wrong reasons.

Lmao, I don't think I'd go that far. I've had plenty of ****ty top 10 runs that should've been crashes, I don't think I'd give them up just because the computer thought I was going to crash.

So having to go through 5 different options to restart a tournament makes you 'earn' what rank you get if you keep playing?

Yep. It's not a simple one button restart. On the easier tourny's it doesn't make much difference but on the higher difficulty tourny's it's frustrating to have to restart.

AJ, have you 0 faulted Midnight Club or Nervous Breakdown? How about Big Thrills Countdown or Ultimate League? Until you've 0 faulted Midnight you can't fully comprehend what i mean by earn.

Maybe you're such a fantastic rider that you could do it in a couple tries, then it really wouldn't matter about the 5 seconds it takes to restart, but for me, being merely an above average rider, it took me at least a week of trying to 0 fault the above tournies and two weeks for Midnight.

So yes, i feel i "earned" those tourny's after a week of restarts, more so than if it were a one button restart, because i was dedicated enough to not get frustrated and quit cause i had to deal with the restarts.

Not the earn i was speaking of. and if you can restart it faster it's going to be easier. I don't want easy, i want a challenge. I want to feel like i accomplished something. If i wanted easy i'd go play COD with the millions of other lazy/bad kids.

I didn't say **** about tracks. We're not talking about tracks, we're talking bout tournaments.


And before you misunderstand my words again, yes you earn what you get on tracks, but i'm sure i'm not the only one who's gotten a top ten score and been like "how'd that happen", as in i got lucky, did the whole track average with that one killer section.

With tourny's it's a different sort of earn.

MJ's idea seems like the best one to me.

I've 0 faulted everything except Midnight Club (which I have 2 faults on, that was my first platinum run on that tourney and I quit after that), I played for platinums and once I got it I stopped playing it. I'm sure I could get a 0 fault run, but I'm really not to worried about it. I'd rather just race the individual tracks, I'm not very fond of trying to speed run 5-6 tracks in a row.

why, jook, wait until you fault for the automatic restart? lets have the system know 3 seconds in advance BEFORE we fault and just restart it then. saves time, saves money
