Guys there was actually a sweet suggestion that would please everyone hidden in there somewhere, he it is;

OH GOD Redlynx please add a neat little feature in Evolution under the options menu that allows players to select "Tournament Reset" to "Safe" or "Fast".

Safe - Same as Trials HD, there's no button that automatically restarts the tournament, instead you have to reselect everything. (DEFAULT)

Fast - Makes on button (Back button?) restart the tournament just like in tracks. Trust me this would really lower the frustration level when doing tournaments, as those 4 or 5 seconds it takes to restart really makes the blood boil!

I say keep the way it is. The fact that it's not a simple restart separates the men from the boys. It shows how bad you want it. A rider "earns" it more with the way is now.

So having to go through 5 different options to restart a tournament makes you 'earn' what rank you get if you keep playing? That's the most idiotic thing I've ever read, ever. You'd be earning it without all those stupid prompts as well, just because you can restart a tournament faster doesn't mean it's going to make you better at the game.

By your reasoning they might as well add in the same questions and button prompts for tracks too, or just make you play the track all the way until the end regardless of if you want to restart because you messed up the beginning or not, that way you 'earn' those ranks too.

I completely understand what Ender is saying. Whiny kids won't go through the process because it wastes 10 valuable seconds of their life waiting for a video game instead of wasting 10 seconds of their life playing a video game.

If you want a good rank you'll keep trying even if you wait a few seconds. If you can't do a couple button presses then you don't want it that bad.

And seriously, if that's "the most idiotic thing" you have ever read, ever, then you need to get the hell out of the house every once in a while because it makes perfect sense.

A lot of really good riders believe that the game should cater to them as they are the "hardcore" players and people who can't achieve high ranks don't matter. That's about the opposite of how it works. Thousands of players would get pissed off if they accidentally pressed a tournament reset button compared to 20 who would actually "benefit" from it by saving 10 seconds.

The amazing world record holding hardcore speedrunning Trials HD player is a VERY small piece of the Trials HD fan base and should be treated as such.

That may be true, but if the Back button reset option was to be further secured with a yes/no safety net, or the option to be implemented in the pause menu (then without a safety net), then it'd be alright for each type of player.

ive got the best idea, why not be able to choose whether you want the feature or not?
there could be, say, SAFE and FAST modes for resetting.

Yeah I don't see how people are upset about the possibility of such a feature if they can choose to use it or not (fast restart can simply be en-/disabled through an options menu and everybody's happy).
