I am curious what this means exactly.....
On the one hand we have the pic #2 I think which showed a course that would appear to have 2 different directions to it. Don't have the link handy...sorry.
OTOH we are all accustomed to a direction of side scroll play...terrain moves left...bike moves right.
So ....will the track accommodate while going around a corner...meaning the track turns....so we stay to the same scroll direction, or will we have to learn to ride the backwards so to speak?
Of course, the answer depends on whether or not that's what curved drive lines means!
Would the Devs care to comment?
I know the riders will! lol
My guess is the former. I think the devs have a really clear vision of what the gameplay in Trials is-, and always will be like. It would be more of a cosmetics thing, at least that's what I hope. I trust RedLynx though, I'm sure they would never put out anything sub-par just for gimmick value.Originally Posted by Ahhme2

I reckon that as you approach the bend your rider will put down his foot and slide round it. the camera will follow so your rider to camera position won't change. thats just my guess though.
If it does work similar to that though it will mean that when creating levels we'll need to make sure that everything looks good from front and back.![]()
If your track contains a curved driving line, yes.Originally Posted by purefuzz
I'm a bit curious about how it would work in mid-jump. Would you kind of just fly around the driving line something like how you are guided around the quarterpipes in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, like this? Having to stay on the ground to turn would suck, but flying around the curves would also be a tad weird. Hopefully they'll have a system that allows for mid-jump turns that don't look too strange![]()
I doubt you will be able to jump while you are turning.Originally Posted by FlipTaco
But if you can that would just be wierd.
Nice! I also thought of curved driving lines when I saw this picture, I actually just came here to see if anyone else noticed it as well.
If you look at that 2nd picture, just under the timer you can see that the track does a gradual and drawn out turn over some rocks. Then right after that corner is a checkpoint between a couple of barrels, and there's also a checkpoint before that corner facing the opposite direction. From what it looks like the camera will pan around with you and you most likely will fly around corners Tony Hawk style. Looks really cool from what that picture shows.
Makes me wonder what the track creator will let us do with the driving line and how much freedom we'll get to shape it how we want.
Quick Edit: I was also just checking out the first picture and in the background you can see more of the track with a wavy-ish driving line the looks like it follows the curves of the mountain. Definitely excited to see what this is like now.
