    I don't like Kinect because...

@crazhalo - Not only do I hate the things I don't like, but I hate what I don't understand too.

Kinect has been an on/off thing for me. At first when I got it it wouldn't recognize my son and I cried. Then for some reason it started working for him and he loves it.

He connects with his cousin in the other side of town and talk to each other. They mostly just babble and say look at me look at me. But it's cool that they are interacting.

I like talking to my xbox to control netflix, either with hand gesture or voice. Only bug is that the little hand icon appears if you move around.

I have had tons of fun with it and some bad times with it. Can't play sonic riders for ****. But the dance game and the sports kinect games are fun.

    ^_^

    I don't like Kinect because...

Kinect wants a bright room. I, being a "troll", do not like lights.

Seriously, it seems I could never get it bright enough for Kinect to see things correctly. My characters legs would flail around while I was standing still and actual "responsive control" never happened.

I took it back to the store and got a refund.

I play in my bedroom too. Make sure your Kinect bar is set high, not in the middle, for the best result.

For me the playing space requires 4-5 feet in the Y direction, with the sensor bar being set about 7-8 feet away from the average of where I stand, and about 9-10 feet in the X direction (ideally I'd want to have a bit more space in both the X and Y directions, but most of the time it feels like I'm playing it the way it should be).

Shifty, I use a 60W bulb and I have one of those switches that control the wattage, so in effect I have about a 50W bulb. I cannot imagine how that can be too bright for ya

And yeah there is very slight "delay" in how quickly the sensor reads the player, but the game designers accommodated this in the game design.

First off, i wanted to get a second xbox so i would have one at both of my parents houses (theyre divorced) but my sister wanted to get a wii so we ended up getting a wii, then neither of us ever play it so it was a waste so im pissed at her for it. i dont think games like wii or the kinect are really that fun, they cant be to skill involved, cuz you cant play something like trials on it.

Play some Dance Central on hard and then tell me there's no skill involved.

Theres a lot of skill involved. Joy ride would have been dead easy with a controller. It's a very rich experience with Kinect.
