You still get a box to go next to the TV and it sends info to the controller wirelessly.
BUT,
LOL @ WiiU
That has taken console naming to a new low.

I'm definite you'd have to buy the new console too.Originally Posted by T4KShadowBut yeah, I understand your reservations, I grew up in the golden era of gaming, so all these things seem gimmicky to me also.
I read some more about it. The controller screen may be a good way to provide menus, stat screens etc, or a way to access features quickly, and I'm pretty excited about the HD capabilities of the new console - bout time I say! The zelda demo looks sweet as sin!Originally Posted by Starfire999
The funniest thing I have heard is Microsoft's press-conference. Announcing Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and saying that it is
"new and innovative".
Seriously, do these people know what either "new" or "innovative" means?
Repackaging a game that has the same story, same characters, and even a toggle to switch it to the original graphics doesn't exactly say "new and innovative". Honestly, I didn't see anything but sequels and YouTube being announced at the Microsoft press conference. I didn't really see anything New or Innovative.
True words. True words. I've been around since the Nes, I've seen how the industry has shifted slowly towards increasingly violent and mediocre games. Likewise, I've watched Nintendo shift towards increasingly childish styles for all of their established brands. In short, it's becoming harder and harder for an "oldie" like me to truly appreciate a new game. And I can promise you that I won't buy the Halo anniversery. I never bought the original Halo, I gave my friend who did buy it a long diatribe (which no doubt damaged an already destroyed friendshipOriginally Posted by ShiftySamuraiNo Joke), and I loathe Halo 3 and still consider it the worst shooter on my 360.
Professional, you're so awesome!1Originally Posted by xPrOFeSsi0NaL

#3. Oh Professional help me!! There'd better be something else. I'm hoping Duke Nukem Forever will be goodloved duke 3D).
If you are under 29 then you are in the most highly populated gaming demographic. Us OLD gamers (since intellevision) take offense when children try to make US sound ancient when they call themselves old.
I have NO problem with Halo, I actually had some of the best times of my life pissing off my brother by head-shotting him from across the map using a magnum. Getting some friends together to rocket launch the indestructible vehicles around the world (YouTube that for some hilarious results). All in all, it's not a bad game. I don't see why so many people have such huge problems with the Halo franchise. Halo 2 is single handedly responsible for the Xbox Live Party System. It was the first console game to let you easily join friends and compete as a team, join a clan, and compare your stats.
Game Developers make what sells. Nintendo has always seemed to cater to a younger crowd. Well, after their initial try to grab an older audience that only really turned the younger gamers (us) into goblin killing gun toting dungeon crawling psychos.
Nintendo now focuses on selling to the soccer moms o the world. The stay at homes who need to track their workout with a console because they are so out of their minds that they can't seem to know how much running they should do to work off the Caesar Salad they had for lunch.
I don't like the Wii.
LOL! I'm not a child, I'm a sexy babe! And I assume you understand the role of inverted commas.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
