Some of the older Mario titles are great for speedrunning. Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, etc.

You can dig out an old NES/SNES or buy them off of the Wii's shop thingy for however many points they sell for.

Marble Blast Ultra is possibly one of the best XBLA speedrunning games (Apart from the 1000 or so cheaters!) but unfortuanetly I became ill for the first time in about 10 years while I was playing that game, and now I never feel llike playing it because I think of the feeling I had.

im currently playing the super mario all stars version of the lost levels often, trying to master it i prefer the all stars versions of the mario games for speedrunning (jeah i know its not the ORIGINAL mario) as the controls feel a little bit smoother. im playing on an actual snes, no emulators for me.

I agree with you, the All Stars version of the Mario games are better. Nostalgic as they are, SMB and SMB3 are both difficult to control on the NES.
