Just watching a tv program... nuclear waste stays hazardous to human life for 100,000 years and Finland have built a massive bunker to store a lot of the worlds waste...

We're all gonna wear radiation suits in the future. You'll have to pee in the suit and the urine will go out of a detachable tube. A tube will go through the helmet when you have to eat, and you'll never touch a lady ever again.

We store only our own **** to that place. Its called "onkalo". So sorry.. Only finish nuclear waste. Rest of the world have not decidet what to do yet.

It's not good.... apart from rising earthquakes and various other world happenings.. the spent fuel can be reused ( to make it simple ) to make nuclear arms..
Now does that make Finland a Target, or in the future a possible super power..
Nuclear waste is a bad thing, as we have seen in history..
But if there is power to be gained then, the placement is even more important....

nuclear waste has to go somewhere, if finland have found somewhere to put it that they feel safe then thats fair enough. i dont think the position of nuclear waste will in any way determine future global superpowers. im with eflixxx, we should space it. not the most responsible thing to do but the thing is, our planets dying.

having nuclear weapons is a different story but again i dont think that makes much difference in terms of power either. if iceland had more nukes than america, nobody would give a ****. im sure people would wonder why though. a lot of countries have nuclear weapons now, and hopefully nobody is stupid enough to use them. if just one goes off, i suspect that we are all in deep ****. it wouldnt surprise me though.

its weird to think but this planet will definitely, eventually, be destroyed. nothing left. so unless we all find somewhere else to live the human race has its days numbered.

im sure i'll be fine though

Hey Willyumz, who is Sipe? I've never seen him in the forums. And I don't know if the planet will be destroyed so much as stripped bare, but who knows? Maybe I'll save the world in my lifetime, or maybe you will

when i say the world will be destroyed im talking about the death of our sun. wont happen for a HUUUUUUUGELY long time but when its about to croak, it will apparently expand (which will probably erase our planet in flames anyway) before either going supernova (BOOM), collapsing under its own weight and forming a black hole (EVEN WORSE) or just become a dead dwarf star (which would not support any life on Earth).

so we need to move. i think we have about 6 or 7 billion years though, halfway through the suns lifespan.

I reckon this planet will be finished in less than 100 years, hopefully I **** something strange before then and send my offspring into the galaxy with a few good maryjane seeds and a copy of Yann Martel's The Life of Pi.
