I wouldn't mind checking a vid out man
I know it's just a case of hitting everything close to perfect and getting the flow right, been a while since I tried to speedrun a track though
My Mrs used to watch me play some Ninja tracks and she'd mock the track by saying stuff like " Oh, that's hard...just stick loads of explosives everywhere ", Oh, nice jump...let's spice it up a notch...BAM...explosive all over it ". When I showed her The Black and White Lodges all we could do was![]()

I moved Obstacle Cancer to Level 1 and removed the poll... 9 votes for Level 1 and 0 votes for Level 2... lol.
My fault count on a first-try run can be a good starting point, but I defiantly don't blindly base my ratings on that. I try to take into account obstacles that are hard to figure out, but easy once you know what to do; I try to take into account getting lucky on a difficult obstacle - like when I feel like "I didn't deserve to pass that so easily", etc. I also use my intuition as much as possible - just feeling out a track. I completely agree with you that some tracks just FEEL like a certain Level, regardless of fault counts. In fact, a perfect example of this is your own Level 1 track, Lighten Up Ninja. I got only 6 faults on my first try, and normally with such a low fault count on my first try I'd rate a track as just Extreme, but as I said in the description on YouTube it just FELT very Ninja-y to me.Originally Posted by Monstified
The bottom line is that not everyone is going to agree with me on every rating, that's just not possible. But I do the best I can.
Actually it was this obstacle along with the two back-wheel bounce ones that were the hardest for me. However the first one was very easy for me, so restarting the track if I screwed up on #2 wasn't a big deal. The two back-wheel bounce obstacles are much farther into the track.Originally Posted by JoeRegular
Hey! You remembered the acronym I coined like 18 months ago. Awesome. And definitely keep trying, you'll get it if you persist.Originally Posted by jhitman
I added this track to the pending submissions under Level 2, because although the first obstacle is insane, the rest is really a mix of Level 1 and Level 2... there were even a couple obstacles I would consider just Extreme. However if you guys think the first obstacle is insane enough to push the track to Level 3 I could be persuaded to move it, just let me know.Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ

It took me about 2.5 hours to do it... but then again speed-running is definitely my weakest point in Trials, so I imagine other "top players" who are more focused on their rank will have much less trouble than I did. For those who are curious, you basically have to pull off this exact run. Every part of the drive line not used for this perfect speed run is just replaced with gaps and/or explosives, and TNT boxes fall on your head if you fail to keep your speed up even on the speed-running line.Originally Posted by JoeRegular
I did almost pass it but there's no checkpoint ='(
oh and (sorry for double post) I really think that dizziness should be moved to ninja level 2 , I replayed it and its kinda easy for a level 3
Well done mate...now fasterOriginally Posted by jhitman![]()
Poll added. I haven't played it myself since you released it and I know I've gotten much better since then, so I'll try it later tonight before I vote.Originally Posted by dezyt
EDIT: OK, tried it. I agree with Level 2.
BTW, I also think Felony is a Level 2. Amplitude - I swear I'm not bringing this up right now to rain on your parade, but seeing your replay on that track reminded me that I originally rated it as Level 2, and Murdoc convinced me to up it to Level 3. I think I'll add a poll for this one after a few more people have voted on Dizziness.
wow jhitman, your crazy man! And I think its a level 2 as well, only because there are consistent ways to pass each obstacle, and most of them are forgiving. To me the levels are all on how forgiving the track is, If I were to put a bomb so that you could not just backflip and re-try the obstacle, it would be a hell of a lot harder.
Thank you guys.
Its not a problem if the level changes, this is why i dont put the level # on my YT, i just simply call it ninja because it differs with everyone. I struggled with the second obstacle the most for some reason but to my surprise got most of the other obstacles on first try and just barely lucked out on the last one. But this is definitely by far the most hardest track that ive ever 0 faulted, harder than Djuno and i think Murdoc would agree with me on this one, should he decide to give it another run. I wanted to be the first to zero this, although im sure some of you could do it faster.
After watchin some replays, ive decided to recant the ninjas ive zeroed recently (with the exception of Lets Give Up)
Djuno- hard level 2- obstacles are easier and straightforward, minimal room to recover.
Felony- light ninja 3- obstacles are still harder to pull off, despite the ability to recover on most of them.
Lets Give Up- light ninja 3- Seein that Murdoc and Mal zeroed this after my 1 fault run, ive come to the fact that i just suck on this track so its whatever you guys decide.![]()
Honestly all of those tracks could really go both ways so ultimately where they end up does not really matter to me.
Murdoc finally added me and i passed Juno, Bounce, Exponents, and almost AM3 (Rage quit).
Nuff said.
