Alright, I've uploaded all my old crappy runs on the Level 3s… with the exception of a few which I 0-faulted before this batch was ready… those replays should be up soon!Originally Posted by Malachyte

--113--Malachyte - 20:23.222 (First Try) - As far as I remember, this isn't a true first try. I think I spent a long time trying to do a font-wheel-bounce-to-fender-hook on the 4th obstacle on my first try before I realized that I had a much better chance at just a straight-forward back-wheel bounce. I restarted the track once I came to this realization… but this run was my first time seeing anything past the 4th obstacle.

--251--Malachyte - 28:09.709 (First Try) - I left in a lot of faults on the last obstacle just to highlight what a pain in the *** it is...

--48--Malachyte - 5:18.252 (Second Try) - When I was recording this batch of replays I learned that my old first-try replay was broken, and evidently unfixable… so I played the track again. It seems I've improved a lot since then, because I remember almost timing out on my first try way back when. Although I'm sure that watching NV ii Alex's 0-fault run on this a few times helped me learn the right techniques too...
Test Yourself 2
--76--Malachyte - 8:13.548 (Second Try) - Although I came close to timing out, I did pass this track on my first try, so I rated it as a hard Level 3. NV ii Alex told me he thought it was a Level 4, so I played it a second time to reevaluate. It's definitely a Level 3 overall… the only obstacle that seems like Level 4 to me is the last one. The rest of the track really isn't too bad once you learn it.

--38--Malachyte - 5:03.440 (Second Try) - When I was recording this batch of replays I found that my very old first-try replay on this track was broken on the very first obstacle, so I went back and played the track again. This isn't a true second try because I did restart once after spending around 50 faults on the 4th obstacle. This was however my true second try on everything past the 4th obstacle.
Miseducated
--43--Malachyte - 4:17.929 (Third Try) - I only played this track once when it was first released, but then I played it three more times much later, because there was some debate involving the respective difficulties of this track, "Djuno", and jook13's "Let's Give Up". Of those more recent three tries, my second was actually my best… so that makes this replay my third try overall.

--220--Malachyte - 22:10.265 (First Try) - As with many fanbeltgattsu tracks, I wasted a lot of time/faults figuring out some of the very strange obstacles.

--93--Malachyte - 12:03.940 (First Try) - Unlike most fanbeltgattsu tracks, this one wasn't particularly hard to figure out… it was just hard.

--130--Malachyte - 19:46.029 (First Try) - I feel like I got lucky in a few places on this run, but I also wasted a lot of time figuring out the last obstacle.

--174--Malachyte - 22:46.594 (First Pass) - This run is pretty old, but I'm pretty sure I remember timing out on the "clock" obstacle once before passing this track. Also, in this replay it seems like I was somewhat familiar with all the obstacles before the clock one.

--149--Malachyte - 26:29.616 (First Try) - This track is ridiculous… even for fanbeltgattsu. it goes on forever, has so much random arbitrarily placed crap, so many checkpoints that are really hard to get without suiciding, glitchy obstacles, checkpoints that don't work… the list goes on So I apologize for this horrible 11-minute replay… but I just couldn't resist highlighting all the BS associated with this track… also, I got really lucky on the last obstacle.

--195--Malachyte - 21:59.716 (First Pass) - To be honest, "first pass" is really just a guess. This run is from way back when jhop420 still managed the Ninja Leaderboards, so I don't really remember… but when editing this run it seemed like I was familiar with everything up until the awkward back-flip obstacle (where I got most of my faults), so I'm guessing I timed out on that obstacle once… what a crappy and embarrassing run.
Murdoc Loch
Dexter Express
--118--Malachyte - 9:52.286 (Second Try) - I remember restarting once around the 10-minute-mark on the third obstacle after realizing that I was doing it wrong, and then passing the track on my "first try" coming very close to timing out. I'm fairly certain this run was only my second try.
Lowercase
--286--Malachyte - 24:55.517 (First Pass) - This run is extremely old, and I don't remember much about it… but I know that this track was one of the hardest in existence when it came out, and I wasn't very good back then… so I'm sure I timed out at least once on it.
NV ii Alex
& ME 2.99 (AM 3 Remake)
--117--Malachyte - 10:22.139 (First Try) - This was my true first try on this track, however I was of course already familiar with the original, and I think I had already watched NV ii Alex's 0-fault run on this remake as well before playing it.
Sanctuary N3
--50--Malachyte - 11:29.488 (First Pass) - It's embarrassing to admit… but I'm pretty sure I timed out once on the last obstacle before passing this track, although I think I wasted a lot of time taking the wrong approach. From running out of time straight to a 50-fault run seems odd, but I'm fairly certain that's what happened.
Unlucky 4
--133--Malachyte - 27:12.153 (First Try) - As the name suggests, NV ii Alex originally submitted this track as a Level 4, but I just couldn't qualify a track I passed on my first try as Level 4… in fact, the only obstacle that felt like Level 4 to me was the third one - the rest really aren't so bad. This track was later remade into a harder version, "U4 Advanced", which did qualify as Level 4 mainly because the third obstacle in this version was absolutely ridiculous. "U4 Advanced" was finally remade again into a more balanced Level 4, "Dedication", in which the third obstacle was made a little easier, and the rest were made a little harder. Good times.

--12--Malachyte - 2:17.544 (Meh) - I spent a while playing this track at some point just for fun. I'm pretty sure I could 0-fault this with a bit more practice…

--134--Malachyte - 21:50.603 (First Pass) - I timed out once on the obstacle with the I-beams because I spent the entire time doing the wrong thing. I even wasted a good chunk of time on this run still doing the wrong thing… why the hell are those lower I-beams there if there's no effective way to use them?? So misleading…
Spargokuroth
Eden
--150--Malachyte - 20:01.218 (First Pass) - I timed out several times on this track just figuring it out - if I recall correctly, once on the third-to-last obstacle and twice on the second-to-last. In fact, I ended up asking Spargokuroth what I was supposed to do on the second-to-last one… it just didn't occur to me to backflip - I kept trying to just get on top of the rotating pillar thing, which I eventually succeeded at… but that accomplished nothing. This run was my first time getting to the last obstacle.
Leviathan
--221--Malachyte - 29:25.893 (First Pass) - I know I timed out at least twice on this track… maybe even three or four times. I was actually on the fence about rating this as a Level 4, but I talked it over with both Spargokuroth and sugatin, and in the end we decided that it was mainly hard to pass just because the obstacles are hard to figure out, but that once you knew what to do they really only required Level 3 skills. The ridiculous length of the last obstacle is definitely a factor too though…
Mind Warp II
--187--Malachyte - 23:25.991 (First Try) - I wasted a LOT of time figuring out the second-to-last obstacle, and a fair amount of faults figuring out the last one…

--53--Malachyte - 7:07.264 (Second Try) - I don't remember playing this track more than once… but I'm pretty sure I came close to timing out on my first try, and I seem somewhat familiar with the track in this replay, so I guess this must be my second try? I really can't recall…

--128--Malachyte - 13:19.738 (First Try) - Originally rated as a hard Level 2, but later moved to Level 3 after consulting with both Spargokuroth and NV ii Alex.

Reseau
--461--Malachyte - 26:32.289 (First Try) - This was actually submitted as a Level 4, but I ended up deciding on Level 3 not only because I passed the track on my first try, but because it's very unbalanced. #5 is really the only Level 4 obstacle. Everything leading up to it is only Level 1 or 2, and the two obstacles after it seem harder, but still only Level 3-ish. I guess that makes the track a hard Level 3 overall…?
Storm uniQ
Element
--153--Malachyte - 16:57.196 (First Try) - Not really a true first try, because I accidentally played an unfinished version of this track that Storm uniQ was sharing for some reason… if I recall correctly I passed three obstacles before I realized I was playing an unfinished track, so only the second half of the track was new to me during this "first try" run on the finished version.

BB (Brown Boxes Remake)
--271--Malachyte - 20:21.821 (First Try) - Although most of the obstacles in this track are only Level 2, I thought that the one I got most of my faults on was hard enough to be Level 4… so I rated the track as Level 3 overall.
Groundhog (Groundhog Forever Remake)
--132--Malachyte - 9:02.253 (First Try) - Some people suggested that this track was only Level 2, but I strongly believe it's Level 3. The third obstacle is probably Level 3 - it's really tough to clear that TNT box AND get enough distance for the jump. The fifth obstacle is DEFINITELY Level 3… a HARD Level 3 obstacle at that. I left in a bunch of close calls so you can see what I mean. While the rest of the track isn't harder than Level 1 or 2, I believe that obstacle #5 is by far hard enough on it's own to push the track to Level 3, and #3 is pretty hard too… so that confirms it for me.
Infe ( Inferno II Remake )
--247--Malachyte - 15:03.310 (First Pass) - I know I timed out on that ridiculous fifth obstacle at least once… and I'm pretty sure I restarted on it at the 10- or 15-minute mark a few times as well… that's why I'm so good at the first four obstacles in this run. This was my first time passing it and seeing the rest of the track. I almost decided on Level 4 because of that obstacle alone, but eventually settled on a really hard Level 3. Let me know what you guys think!
KotH (King Of The Hill Remake)
--137--Malachyte - 16:12.423 (First Pass) - I'm pretty sure I timed out once before passing this track. As far as I remember it was towards the end… maybe even the 2nd-to-last obstacle since I seemed to already know the correct technique for it in this run. Also, sorry about leaving in so many faults on this one… I just had a lot of close calls that I wanted to keep in the replay. Finally, what the hell happened on the last obstacle?? Why did I rocket forward like that??
No Name Ver2
--320--Malachyte - 29:35.936 (First Pass) - I know I timed out at least twice on this track, and was on the fence about giving it a Level 4 rating… however in my second time-out and much of this run, I had no idea what to do on the last obstacle. Once you know the right technique it's still hard, but on the other hand I think I would have passed the track on my second try had I known what to do on it, so I went with a hard Level 3 rating.
Rookie?
--125--Malachyte - 10:18.907 (First Try) - This track is fairly unbalanced. While most of it is actually relatively easy, I decided that the fourth and the third-to-last obstacles were hard enough to make it an easier Level 3 overall.
Track 01
--154--Malachyte - 22:08.648 (First Try) - This is a pretty tough track… but my fault count could have been lower than it was. At first I was trying to recover from my failed attempts on the big-awkward-pile-of-boxes obstacle near the middle of the track, but it appears I became frustrated with it and started using faults when I didn't need to… bah. Also, sorry for leaving in so many faults on the second-to-last obstacle - I just wanted to show how annoying it was.
TBNSoty
--112--Malachyte - 15:30.965 (First Pass) - I'm pretty sure I timed out at least once on this track… maybe even twice. I know that this run was my first time making it to the "squeeze" obstacle though, since evidently I didn't know that I would just explode if I didn't go down the narrow opening.
T.B.N. =Easy= (The Beyond NJ Easy)
--110--Malachyte - 19:21.349 (First Try) - While this was my true "first try" on this track, it was after I had already passed all the individual obstacles from the Level 5 version, so I may have gone a bit easy on it's rating. This could very well be a easy Level 4 rather than a hard Level 3. Also, funny that my fault count on this run was actually higher than my fault count when I finally passed the Level 5 version of this track much later…

--325--Malachyte - 21:31.904 (First Try) - This run is very old and embarrassing… I clearly wasn't very good when this track came out, and it seems like I also lost patience with trying to recover on the third-to-last obstacle - I was doing it at first, but then I just started using faults when I didn't need to… ugh.
xX GoSLiNg Xx
Underpressure
--277--Malachyte - 25:53.288 (First Try) - This track is EXTREMELY unbalanced… while most of the obstacles are probably only Level 1 - definitely no harder than Level 2, that ridiculous second-to-last obstacle is at LEAST Level 4… bordering on Level 5. I even got lucky doing the last part of it on my first try when I finally made it past the TNT boxes, but if you look closely you can see there isn't even a checkpoint there, so if I had screwed up that front-wheel-bounce-to-fender-grab part I would have had to start the entire obstacle over again. Even with my stroke of luck on the last part, I still spent over 90% of my total time on this obstacle and came pretty close to timing out. Therefore, despite the rest of the track being relatively easy, I didn't think it was right to rate it anything less than Level 3… Finally, I know it looks like I didn't finish the track at the end… but watch my timer - it does stop. Even though I exploded I somehow triggered the finish line at the same time.

Finally, a few notes on why I chose to work on these particular tracks… just for fun:
Level 2:
I was never a huge fan of "Felony", but it was the only Level 2 by DEADPH1SH that I hadn't zeroed, so I went for it.
As for ginodeergun's Level 2s - Ninja Track and Tires, I only went for these after I zeroed his Level 3 track, "Ninja Level 4"… OCD took over and I wanted to zero the remaining two tracks once I had the hardest one out of the way. Meh.
I zeroed InfernoTrials' Level 2s, "Legend" and "Traveller" because I really enjoy his tracks, and considering he has a whole bunch of Level 1s and only two Level 2s I figured why not… also, he's always been a huge supporter of me on YouTube, as well as my music.
I've always enjoyed Japanese track design… although I seem to be the only non-asian person who does. I really love the unconventional obstacles because they force me to really perfect my finesse and learn new techniques that never show up in "traditional" North American or European track design. I know most people tend to think that they are just awkward and sloppy, but I love them. I focused on ALFdoubaka's Level 2s in this batch simply because he's one of the few Japanese guys who doesn't make insanely difficult tracks like TBNSoty, sugatin, tateyosi, and fanbeltgattsu…
A lot of you are probably wondering why the hell I bothered with CypherDextrous' Level 2, "Dizzy Ninja". The answer is simple. I did it for lolz. That's right. This track is probably the worst and most sloppy Ninja track ever built. It's so bad that it's good, like a really over-the-top B-Horror movie… so I thought it would be hilarious to try to zero it.
I zeroed xXDonReneXx's Level 2 tracks for a few reasons - I have always been a huge fan of his track designs in the first place, and additionally, like InfernoTrials, he has always supported me by commenting on my replays and expressing interest in my music.
Night Shift… this track is like the Pure Trials and Real Trials series by QcChopper, or the Fault Line series by Murdoc Loch. It's this type of really technical track that I enjoy the most - no high speed jumps, just technical and awkward slow-speed obstacles.
Doomsayer - this track is just really fun. I thought it was really awesome back when it was first released, but back then I didn't really have a chance at zeroing it, so I finally came back to it.
Level 3:
Ninja Level 4 - This sounds silly, but I decided to try to zero this track just because I thought it would look funny in the video title to have "Ninja Level 4 (Ninja Level 3)"… lol. Also, despite all the stolen ideas from Pyyheliina and TheMovement81, I thought this track was quite fun. It's basically much easier versions of obstacles I had practiced extensively for Pyyheliina's Level 5, Challenge.
Certain Death - not much to say… I thought this track was awesome back in the day when I first discovered Ninja tracks, and I had always wanted to come back to it some day… so I finally did!
Insidious - Well, I always thought this track was awesome, but I never intended to try to zero it just because it's insanely difficult… however after zeroing ginodeergun's "Ninja Level 4" and "Ninja Track" I felt really guilty for spending time on these crappy rip-off tracks without dedicating my time to the track from which the ideas were stolen… so I set out to zero this beast after all. This may very well be the hardest track I've ever zeroed… it took nearly a week of practice, and was extremely stressful to work on. I made it to the last obstacle in zero faults FIFTEEN TIMES before finally zeroing the track. Don't get me wrong, this track is obviously WAY better than ginodeergun's crappy rip-offs… it's just ridiculously hard. I'm VERY proud of finally zeroing it though… I considered giving up a few times.
Dusty Cavern - Again, not much to say… this is an awesome track, and a lower Level 3 that I actually thought I had a chance at zeroing, so I went for it!

I'm sure I can get it down into the lower 20's, but not sure I can do much better than that... the drop-down U-ramp just screws with my head - but I've gotten there in maybe 2-3f.Originally Posted by Nytmair

I found the nose wheelie WAY easier to hold in THD, but a bit harder to get to (confession: I tried Apologies again, too, just gave it up after failing so hard).
