havent looked for updates this morning but this is what i can remember from last night
- major damage in japan
- hawaii seems to have gotten away with small waves
- small amount of damage to california
japan main stories:
- several nuclear reactors crippled by the tsunami - their cooling systems have been damaged and are not working
one of the reactors is at 1000 times its normal levels of radiation
- one oil refinary is completely on fire
- 4 trains and 1 boat reported missing
*update today*
- explosion at one of the nuclear reactors. it was not a meltdown, but an explosion of one of the other parts of the reactor. it is unlikely that there will be a meltdown. one of the buildings at the plant has also collapsed.
I woke up about 3 in the morning thursday night and turned on the weather channel just to see what was going on in my region and it said in caps "BREAKING NEWS"...Ended up not getting to bed until about 5 because I was watching it. Those waves carried ships 4 miles inland. Unbelievable...

That nuclear power plant explosion doesn't seem too good to me...Didn't they say that everything was under control at Chenoble (However you spell it), when really they knew Radiation was spilling out and poisining everyone within miles?
I fear.
"At least three residents evacuated from a town near quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 plant have been exposed to radiation, both Kyodo and NHK report"
- Info released about 2 minutes ago...
Around 10,000 people (half the population) of a town are missing, seriously it's just a flat mud plain now, only a couple of buildings remain (Hospital, town hall).
Shocking.![]()

**** is CRAZY, all the videos ive seen are too much. everyone knows japan is a bad place to be geographically, but this is a huge reminder of why. praying for all my homies over there, i have lots and have only been able to get in contact with very few.i fear the worst for my dudes in smaller towns/cities
just read an article in the times, these two points astounded me:
- after the quake, the main island of japan has moved 7 feet from where it was before
- after the quake, the axis of rotation of the earth has moved 8 inches from its previous location
as my dad said 'thats one big f***er wasnt it'
Arent you like in Japan or somethin?Originally Posted by KyoshiYozima
