firstly, i live in the UK.

if i buy a 12 month xbox gold membership as a prize, host a competition and, for example, an american wins it (given that, with my idea, it will more than likely be red ).. will that code work for said american on their xbox in the US (or any other none European country)?

i always thought memberships did work globally and ms points didnt but i thought i would double-check.

I'm not 100% sure, so if there is an MS office over there, you may want to check with them. I'm in Canada and I can use the 12 month gold cards from the USA, but I can't use the points cards.

Yeah.. live codes work anywhere... think of 48h codes.. you can get them of any of your virtual mates and they work.. ms points are region locked. I think 3 regions , Europe. America/ Canada etc and japans region.. I'm pretty sure that's right
