    #1, dream or not?

for the few of you that have, what was your first #1? how happy were you? were you expecting it? or did it seem to just randomly jump up at the top of your screen? my first. only, and probably last #1 is on t1(not very accomplishing, i know) and i had no idea id get close. this was a week or so after KNIG got 3.50 on t1. which awed everybody because for about 2 years because 99% of people that played trials believed 3.51 was the best possible score on the track. i lost it and reagained and lost and regained my #1, over 5 times. and today reclaimed it again. and probably just to loose it. so, do you have any stories on #1's? wether you almost did, did, or hope too. when i first started playing a was this --> l l close to quitting because i couldnt complete t7. its very strange(to me at least) you could ever go from that, to having a #1 score. and being #14 global. so what are your stories?

    Re: #1, dream or not?

Technically, I got mine five minutes after patch 1.08 was released. On No Air. Think the time was 1:05 or something. Awesome run!
Then got 22:41 on Speed wheel about a week after 1.08 release, that felt semi-real.
But the undisputed first real top dog was 21:75 on Speed wheel. Jmn had 22:03 (which had beaten my 22:41) and then Hugh got 21:95. I was going for #2, I think Jorko had it with 22:11 or something. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got 21:75, and I remember Neoptolemos said "probably a perfect run", LOL. And I thought so too. Little did we know we could shave off another 0:60..

The best top dog was Let it flip though, I used the ghost (never use ghosts otherwise) of Hugh's #1 run and I remember my gf was in the room talking to me. I was zoning out and just realized after the middle flip bounce what was going on. Still the oldest #1 in the game and I'm slightly proud over that one.

Grindhouse was also very satisfying. Rock Bottom was a big relief cause it's a boring track and I just wanted to get it done. Both tracks took a long time. Probably too long.

Concrete Mayhem, the old record of 31:85 was fun too, I was talking to DAM420 in chat who had the top spot at the time, 31:86, he was trying to teach me the track and I said I just want top5 so I can leave it. I somehow lucked it and beat him by 0.01, good times.

    Re: #1, dream or not?

I wish I had a top dog run to talk about. It seems like the days when #1's were achievable have come and gone, unless you're ready to go head-to-head with Akam, Norfair, Pebe, etc... or perhaps find and execute a new shortcut/method that hasn't been discovered yet. I recently tried for a few hours to grab a top10 on e2, using a few techniques that seemed faster than the record runs, but there was no hope. I settled for #25, as I seem to be doing quite often lately.

I still hold out some hope for a great run that leads to a surprising #1, but it seems unlikely.

My first #1 was on Deanathon Epic, **** was cash until everyone in the Trials 2 chat kickbanned me for cheating.

    Anyway...

My first legit #1 was Dyn2, a truly awesome run with the luckiest ending to ever occur on that track.

Cant believe i didnt get mentioned before

Going for #1 is tough if you arent akam or really specialized in one or a few tracks:/

Well my first like six #1 runs was beaten again, then i lucked speed wheel I still have it

The only #1 im really proud off and really wanted was dyn4

My t4 i had to do as i did a 9.01 offline and lollerskates was because i couldnt live with myself if primusk had me beat on that track:P

    Re: #1, dream or not?

Well, disregard my last post. I wound up getting my first #1 about 5 minutes ago. Sadly, it was a T1 run, so I can't boast too much about it.

I played for 20 minutes, got a 3.51, figured I must be on fire since I'd never done it before, and got 3.50 about 2 minutes later. Needless to say, I was not expecting that. It was awesome to see my last two achievements pop up on the screen though. I finally filled out the box!

It'll belong to someone else in a week. It always does. For now, though, I'm going to celebrate.
