I voted forums, becuase... in chat, I feel like i often come into the middle of the conversation and have a hard time joining in. In the forums, no matter when I come online, I can pick up converstations (threads) from the beginning, and throw in my 2 cents, etc.

I tend to lurk/participate in both, but overall I prefer chat when I have the time and people are playing.

Both are great, but on forums the sense of competition isn't nearly as apparent to me.

One of my favorite examples from the chatroom (from memory):
Somebody: Lestro's down to one remaining #1 run.
FaceStab: Yeah, but that h2 run is almost perfect. I don't know how anybody's going to beat it.
    AkaM: Just a sec.
    (3 minutes or so later)
TBot: AkaM is now #1 on Hard 2: Buried in box with a time of 00:36:41 and 0 faults.
    FaceStab: :-|

one main problem in chat is how crazy it gets sometimes. you normally look back on it and laugh though.

I definitely don't sound like that. Your memory makes me sound pretentious.

It just happened that you joined chat while I was playing h2. People were almost convinced that I'd get #1 on it and take Lestro's last top dog away. I didn't expect I'd do it but neither did I rule out the possibility.

So when it turned out they were right, I responded like this:
AkaM: How did you guys know?

Now about the poll, I prefer the chat. It's a more personal and direct way of communication.
I like the forum too though. Both ways serve their own purpose nicely.

I will replace it with a more graceful memory immediately.

It seemed as though people just brought it up, then you did it. I must have missed the context.

Chat is nice, forum is nice. but if you only want to take a quick look forum still dominates.
