Short and memorable. If I lived for a long time but was forgotten, that would probably translate into living an average life of doing nothing extraordinary, or possibly worse. Going out quick and being remembered forever would be exciting and amazing (depending on what my noble act was), and people would know who I was and what I did for decades, maybe centuries. That is worth more than any boring, average life to me.
