    Constant server errors [SOLVED]

I just bought Trials 2 SE off of Steam today during their big sale.

All i keep getting are "server Errors"

Couldn't validate key - Eventually went through
Can't retrieve scores - eventually works
Can't progress says I need to play previous tracks. I did play them and passed them. Eventually track unlocks.

I can't understand why a game thats 2 1/2 years old is having these issues.

    A fix would be nice.

The answer is in your post.

"I just bought Trials 2 SE off of Steam today during their big sale. "

Just like you so are a zillion other people, which causes ...

    Wait for it....

    Server Problems.

Not saying thats a solution, but thats whats happening, we can just wait and hope things calm down or get upgraded.

Technically it is a server problem, but fundamentally it is a design flaw. This is why you do not develop a game that requires any internet connection to function. I love looking at leaderboards and all, but high scores have nothing to do with unlocking levels in the game so I shouldn't have to wait for the high score to load before the next level is available.

I figured that was the reason anyway but still wanted to ask to be sure.

In all honesty though they should really update the servers. This is not a MMO we are talking about here where loads of data needs to be transfered back and forth. All that's being transfered is rankings and such. There really is no exscuse here and this shoud not be happening.

It doesn't look good for a company to have this sort of issue happen. They knew about the sale LONG before it went on Steam and should have made sure the servers where going to be able to handle the large groups of people coming in.

You can choose "No active profile" from "manage profiles" menu. All tracks are unlocked already and your scores aren't sent to the servers. It's an offline mode, more or less.

It's definitely annoying and not a good start for any gamer which fires up trials for the first time. Fortunately the game itself is awesome and all the server errors will disappear once the steam sale is over.

It is good to know I can operate the game without connecting to the internet. It would just be nice if the levels I unlock on my online profile show up faster.

Server is working fine now after some tweaking by RedLynx's IT magician, plus Steam sale is over so traffic is at a normal rate.

    Just bear in mind this:

Or you can use "Your stats" page from main menu, it updates everything.
