My Top Custom Tracks of Big Thrills

Hi, these are my opinions. I respect everyone here. What do you think? Revised in blue

    1) The Forum. ONE
This easily has the best gameplay and it is the only track I consider to be on par with the official tracks. Initially the red glow and relatively high difficulty put me off, but no more 'm not adverse to high difficulty, I guess it was my bad form on one of the inclines).
    2) Laser Tag. TWO
Original and tense atmosphere is a big win. I do feel that the various dangers could have been bundled around better gameplay. For example, the end lasers move slow, I would have liked more spinning lasers, and more ways to get around the rotating can-bots.
    3) Flight School. THREE
I actually am familiar with some of the author's earlier works, so I know his brilliance. The theme is executed very well (Harry Potter anyone?), and the originality is daring, but implemented in an exciting and memorable way. This track made the biggest impact on me when I first played it. I do feel that, at the end, the upper route is both easier and obviously faster - you can't have both!
    4) Mystical Journey. FIVE
Grandesque size is what stands out the most - those loops are HUGE. The theme is interesting as well - alien and tribal, maybe? However, there are too many easy roads for my liking. A good track to relax on.
    5) Pirate's Gold. SIX
I grew up with pirate lego, so I instantly warmed to this. The detail is the most impressive of any track, but it was a bit short for my liking and the opening felt gimmicky.
    6) High Voltage. NINE
The only track I cannot place with full confidence, for I haven't played it as much, but there is a reason for that: I don't like the low gravity, and all the springs and steep inclines have annoyed me. While the core idea is interesting, I felt that the theme wasn't executed as clearly as the above five tracks. Nonetheless, it stands as a very well made track - I'm not blind to that.
    7) Crow's DoJo. SEVEN
I like the theme, which is the track's strongest point. I'm not equally as fond of the shifting camera angle and the difficult Jump before the fire. I don't mind missing difficult routes, but if it hurts the flow then I'm a bit peeved.
8] (Dam smileys) Weakest Link. EIGHT
Well, I get to relax on this one and nothing annoys me. Unfortunately for the author, Redlynx made a similar track, Chains of Despair, which is totally superior.
    9) Ram it Down. TEN
I rather switch off on those long straights and the dark lighting doesn't match the low difficulty.
    10) Roadkill. FOUR
Well, at its core it's pretty good, but there are things I don't like: I dislike the distant camera angle, the weird gravity (or am I stoned?), and how the little gaps between the tires can destroy everything. I also dislike the first trick. I have trouble getting enough air, and if I screw that up, I have to take the low route and the rest of my run will look like mucus.

    Anyhow, I love you all!

Re: My Top Custom Tracks of Big Thrills

    1. flight school- most original and i just got addicted to it, so many easter eggs and routes that make it imo better than SOME redlynx tracks.

    2. The forum- Awesome flow, decor, and some really killer timesavers.

    3. Mystical journey- The whole physics of the track is stunning

4.High voltage- hard to find the flow but when you do you feel awesome, and the physics are very impressive

5.Crows dojo- loved the theme and the flow, although some spots in the middle are slightly annoying (very slightly)

    6. Roadkill- It might be my favorite, tricky but fun flow, the awesome wall, the awesome platformer effect, but that last fence kills me every time and annoys the crap out of me, but still a great track.

    7. Ram it down- Fun flow and some interesting physics, was very impressed with this track

    8. weakest link- fun flow annd all, but yeah it is unfortunate that redlynx made a similar track, but still good flow

    9. Pirates gold- Really awesome theme but was way too short for my liking

    10. laser tag- awesome idea(best out of 10 imo), pretty good flow, i really wish there were better ways(other than the glitch) to get past the barrels, also the material the ramps are made out of have a weird effect on the bike, but still a fun track to ride.

I honestly enjoyed the dlc tracks more than a lot of redlynx tracks, although this dlc was so awesome its just impossible to pinpoint a favorite track overall, thank you creators and redlynx!

My top 3 (in no particular order) is Flight School, Ram It Down and The Forum. I have respect for all but 1 of the tracks in big thrills and im sure you guys know which one that is.

edit- not too fond of sauna either. the idea/theme behind it is amazing but the riding line just doesnt appeal to me (except for the ending which reminded me a little of command respect ).

You aren't the only one who disliked that camera! Dosto and some of the other webchat regulars told me over and over to get rid of it. I love the 1Bit camera without the monochrome color scheme.

The gravity is perfectly normal though, so you MIGHT be stoned!

The first jump was supposed to be difficult, there was actually (at one point) a piece of glass that you could break with your back tire to open a shortcut further into the track, It was supposed to be something for the best players to do, and the rest of us to struggle with.

I designed my track to be easy to play, but harder to platinum.

    Here's my order!

    1. Mystical Journey - I love this track. The custom cameras are flawless, the physics enabled objects work perfectly, and I found a shortcut. What more could I ask for. Awesome track.

    2. RAM it Down - This track teases me every time I boot up Trials, but for some reason, I love it. I like the dark feeling of the track, the way that when I get a good run, I feel like a freaking Superman.

    3. High Voltage - Another Superb track. The tire swing annoys the crap out of me, but the track is MORE than solid, and fun as hell. I know some people dislike it, but I think it's Top Three!

    4. Pirates Gold - I love the feeling on this track. I wish it was longer. The line is good, but could be better, and that's the ONLY thing that kept it off of the Top Three.

    5. Weakest Link - This track makes fun of me all day every day. I love the look and simple (don't be offended everyone!) flow of this track. I know exactly what I am supposed to do, but doing it smooth is another thing.

    6. The Forum - The forum is a really nice track. I have some problems with it, but those are my problems. The multiple routes, the look and feel... It's all there. It's in a great package.

    7. Crow's Dojo - If I hadn't extensively tested Dojo for Crow, I'm sure it would be higher on my list. I love the decoration, I really enjoy the line (except for ONE jump!) and it's clearly a solid track.

    8. Flight School - I like this track, but at the same time, I HATE this track. There is one afterburner that I feel is a bit random, and I can have a 0-fault run turn into a 15 fault run. Great idea, and mostly good execution.

    9. Laser Tag - I really like the idea behind Laser Tag. It's unique, completely well thought out, and it's a joy to see iCry's track in the game. I hate the flow, or lack of flow. I know that some people speed through this track, but it feels like I stop, wait, stop, slip off of signs, and wait some more. Great idea, not so awesome implementation.

    10. RoadKill - Bah. You have to bunny hop over that last fence. Lean forward up the start, and press back then forward to clear the fence at the top. Other than the missing rafter checkpoint, I think it's a solid track, but I played it more than a few times, and was pleasantly surprised when it made the DLC.

Re: My Top Custom Tracks of Big Thrills

mystical journey. my money was on this track for the win. the feel is just... i dont know, its just cool. Drittesauge

pirates gold. not a long track but a greatly executed theme. great color, beautiful shipwreck! Nannerdw

the forum. simply put, a mild salsa from the man himself, mr... o SKUMBAG o. a proffessional track for all levels.

high voltage. hard at first but great flow when ya get 'one of those moments'. awesome fatality. x Iron Warlord x

ram it down. a fun 'true' medium imo. nice vibe, nice lighting (or lack of). very fun to ride. GENERAL RAM

flight school. great track, great builder. im a fan of most his works. original track, needs minor tweak BlueMageFTW

laser tag. i simply like the original idea. it needs a lot of tweaks and minor fixes but great, unique idea. Dr.Pepso

weakest link. dont take this the wrong way... im not a very good rider. this track is easy and fun to ride. Norfair

crows dojo. im sorry crow... great ninja movie design and theme but the track pisses me off... Crowsbeak

roadkill. i do like the track/cam... theres something funky with the gravity. and the tires are like sponges.ShiftySamurai

. if i got gamertags wrong i apologize, im going on memory. anyways, these are just my opinions and "opinions are like a*#holes, we all have one. and about the gripe with the falling burner... i know as ive said, im not a great rider so i never even thought people would go there as a fast route. (i built the top for a fast route...) that falling burner was meant for going up to my MUSTARD TRAX logo egg thats been replaced with a killer squirrel race so im sorry. if i could go back id take that damn burner out.

Re: My Top Custom Tracks of Big Thrills

    1..Roadkill
Love the camera, love the flow. The only track where I have a really good time. Only thing I don't like is the drop section towards the end, and the following jump. It's a bit hardcore. But overall this is by far the best of the 10 tracks.

    2..The Forum
Looks like a typical Redlynx track. Good consistent hard flow, quality track.

    3..Mystical Journey
Very professional track, it's a nice feeling to ride it. Unique track, I may like Roadkill and The Forum more, but I agree this is the best choice for 1st prize.

    4..Ram it down
Would have probably been my #1 choice if it wasn't for the 2 jumps in the middle which I don't feel are consistent in difficulty with the rest of the track. The jumps are a bit too stretched to do perfectly, but all in all I love this track.

These are the only ones I'm gonna rank, the rest I don't like enough to play on a regular basis. Like I've said before, I think the Redlynx tracks in the DLC outclass the custom ones in terms of playability and look. As for my own track I'm obviously glad it made the cut, but tbh I don't see why it did. It's not even in the top5 out of my own tracks and I'm pretty sure most would agree. It just gets old real fast.

I like the look of High Voltage, but the camera needlessly screws it over and it doesn't seem justified. Pirate's gold is OK, but I don't care for its color and the line isn't addicting. Flight school isn't bad but it suffers the same fate as my own track as it gets old really fast. Crow's dojo would have been a favorite if the jumps in the middle weren't so stretched, as it stands now I just want to give up and leave it to the pros. And finally Laser tag is little more than a fascinating gimmick left out in the cold without a decent riding line.

Re: My Top Custom Tracks of Big Thrills

Don't feel like ranking them, just some thoughts:

Mystical Journey: The Noumenon design, Noumenon/Blue Track physics/riding line, and Shove It ending are great, and I love Drittes' tracks so much that I can tell which ones he used to help build this track Drittes physics are infamous.

Pirates' Gold: Amazing design and background detail. It's a masterpiece. However, the riding line is a little...I don't know, it just seems a little off.

Roadkill: The camera angle is a nice unique touch. It doesn't bother me. What does a little bit is some of the obstacles are a little picky (tight spaces). But since it was intended to be an easy track to finish but difficult to speedrun, it was well made in that aspect.

The Crow's Dojo: Good theme and design, but the track is a little short. Difficult to speedrun, almost frustratingly difficult...

Laser Tag: This is one of those tracks where an appropriate response is "I didn't know you could do that." If the riding line was as good as the laser physics this track would be insane. But it's still a great concept and awesome use of the editor.

The Forum: This, I think is what a Trials racing track should look like. Hard enough, but not too hard to complete. There are timesavers of all kind, that all levels of riders can do with a usual satisfactory effort. A little dull on the visuals, but the track itself is amazing.

The Weakest Link: I'm glad the track creator himself said something first. The track is too simple. The big explosions and stuff are cool, but like he said, it kind of gets old.

RAM it Down: The massive moving blocks are awesome, but the track itself doesn't have much substance. Some parts are very simple and it's a little annoying that some of the timesavers require near perfection.

Flight School: Good concept, and the large number of alternate routes are great. However, the riding lines could've been a little more creative, and I don't like how some of the afterburners are flat on the ground; it's easy to accidentally boucne over them.

High Voltage: Good physics; they're consistent and not too complicated, and it's good that if you mess up on them there's a reset area instead of instant death. When I see the name, I expect a little more intense track, meaning like more electricity, explosions, and the colors are kind of dull. But it's a very good technical track.
