If I play while not connected to Xbox LIVE and set some new best times, will these then upload to LIVE when I eventually connect, or will I lose them and have to set the times again?
It makes no sense that they wouldn't, but other games have this issue so I'm not sure if I'm just wasting my time by playing offline
Thanks to whoever can tell me for sure, because nobody else on the internetz seems to know!
Presumably any answer applies to DLC as well?
Times you achieve offline won´t upload to the leaderboards if you connect to LIVE later.
My XBOX was once offline about a month so I know from experience![]()
Yeah we've all made the mistake of making a fantasticc run that you won't be able to achieve again...just to find out you were offline
I remember some guy doing it on the Marathon achievment (before it was patched) Oh how gutted he must of been..
Like when I took first place on pro speedway but the xbox live servers went down right when I finished so I had to do it all over again.....Originally Posted by Elements1992
I get a problem with Trials saying it can't connect to the server, and to press "a" to retry or "b" to cancel. I can sign in to log my scores, but I can totally understand why they don't allow offline scores to be posted to the leaderboards with the amount of modding going on in the world.
Just look at some of those K/D ratios! People who have killed 50 million people 2 days after games have been released, and have negative deaths.
Obviously people still manage to cheat the leaderboards.
I do find it annoying that your scores arent svaed when playing offlineeven would be happy with an offline scoreboard just for myself if medals are saved offline why not the time?)
Can someone give an official reason WHY we cannot upload offline times? The data is sitting on the hard drive and I want to rub it in my friends face!I appreciate everyone's opinions, but I would like to know if the "powers that be" cannot do it - or will not do it.
I just got majorly screwed by this and I am not happy about it. I lost 13 tracks worth of major improvements and I cannot get back into the rhythm. I can't even judge if I am close to where I was - what a let-down.![]()
If you did it once, you can do it again.Originally Posted by krony
To make it much more difficult for hackers to tamper with their times on the leaderboards. I could sit here all day and list reasons why the ability to upload offline times is a terrible idea but I don't have that kind of time. So I'll just list 2 reasons.Originally Posted by krony
1. If there is a glitch that allows a player to have an unfair advantage Redlynx will come out with a patch. This patch would be useless since a player could just remove the patch and get a glitched time offline and then go back online to submit the time.
2. It seems to be much easier for a hacker to tamper with their offline data and then submit it rather than try to tamper with data sent live.
Thanks for the info KyoshiYozima. It is a shame that so much of our time and resources in life are consumed by the "bad apples" in our world. I figured it had something to do with that stuff but I guess I was being selfish to think that my time and personal achievements should be above those realities.
...and jhitman, I am not sure if you were trying to be either optimistic or insensitive but, believe it our not, I am not capable of duplicating an awesome time every run. Also, I do not like every track in Trials HD. I have no desire to do those any more than I have to, especially when more important things in my life leave me little time for gaming in the first place.
