Do people actually enjoy playing NINJA tracks?

Maybe they're just not for me, I dunno.

I was playing someones tracks earlier today (not SCUMBAGs!) and they were pretty much impossible to complete. All of them were ridiculously difficult and long, and why? What's the point? I get no enjoyment from spending over 2 minutes and 50 faults to reach the next checkpoint. And I'm no chump at this game, I'm not part of that top 50 elite group, but I am good at this game and have platinums on most tracks and skill games (including Extremes), but these NINJA tricks are way out of my league.

I just don't understand why people create them. 95% of the people who play them will NOT be able to complete them, so they're just narrowing down their "audience" per sé. Surely you want as many people as possible to play and complete them?

I won't name whose tracks I played, but I completed 5 out of 7. And like I said I AM good at this game. One of the tracks took me 8 minutes and over 150 faults. And I haven't seen that many faults on my screen since my very first run on Inferno II! Oh and the real funny part? ... once I've completed the track, it says "Next Medal: Silver - finish with 2 faults in xxx". Hah WHAT!? I'm not a robot, I'm only a mere human, honest!

Don't get me wrong, some of these tracks are VERY well made and look great, SCUMBAG I'm looking at you, haha. But the difficulty is too much for me. I much prefer tracks that are difficult (yes I do prefer Hard and Extremes), but I like them with nice smooth lines that are only available to the better players. They should reward the better players but at the same time allow the inexperienced riders to actually complete the track.

    Am I alone here?

I totally agree. There are the Ninja tracks that are just a bit harder than extreme, but still doable. Then you have the ridiculous ninjas that require a specific way to pass an obstacle and only then you get past it if it's a fluke.
They aren't particularly fun so I don't even bother with them.

I personally prefer the hard tracks more than ninja tracks, but I can see why some people like ninjas. You can speedrun the hard tracks for the most part, so you play extremes for a little more of a challenge, right? There are people at a level where they speedrun the extremes without too much problem, so they play ninjas for a little extra challenge. And actually people are just about speedrunning ninja tracks. It's just another level. Also, maybe some people just like the challenge of simply completing a really difficult track.

There are definately some riders who will excell at ninja tracks and maybe for them the praise ( and jealousy ) from others is what gets them going.
For me personally, ninjas are satisfying to finish and I find they help my overall riding. I learn new ways of doing things and can put them in my speed runs.
But in the end I prefer hard tracks any day!

Re: Do people actually enjoy playing NINJA tracks?

i like a bit of everything to be honest. sometimes i fancy a super hard track, sometimes i just wanna flow through a track whilst barely trying.

i do get massive satisfaction from doing a ninja track but i like to get a gold medal when i think i deserve it. that example you give tom of your next target being 2 faults for a silver is enough to put someone off the track.

PS. you still making tracks? you made some great ones in the past...

I don't know who started all this silly NINJA stuff but....... Yeah, i think some people are a little confused as to what the term originally meant. Usually now, When someone calls a track NINJA..... It's normally just F$$K$$G obnoxious. Think i enjoy every difficulty but, NINJA.

A prime example of what ninja should be is most of S**** tracks. They are all doable, consistant and harder than extreme but aren't total hair rippers (most of the time).
The ninjas I hate should have their own difficulty. Ninja+ isn't even the right term.
They should be something like "sadomasochistic-controllersmashers".

    Yeahhh....i wonder..

And supertom, i've always had the same view you have had on this.

Ninja tracks are something that do not take my fancy...i will try to complete them and i succeed n hundreds of faults) and i'm averagely in the top 50 in the game.
I do like the aspect that they may improve my skills in game on being able to complete the Hard and Extreme with more flow, but i can't be bothered to put in the effort and frustration.

Ninja tracks just leave me exhausted and frustrated, no enjoyment what so ever. But i do know that some people enjoy them.
Medium - Hard fun, flow-filled tracks are my kind of 'cup of tea.' (Yes, i am British )

I love the challenge of a well put together Ninja. While some can be extremely frustrating I believe most of the improvements to my riding have come from playing these super hard tracks.

Plus they make a change from the usual speedrun stuff where 1 fault=instant restart.
