Why the lag?
I'm working on a track that I've been wanting to release for quite a while now. I've almost got all the kinks worked out but for some reason, there's massive amounts of lag in several portions of the track. My first thought was that the complexity was too high on those places, but in many of them, there's only about half the complexity bar full. My next thought is that the visual memory is just being stressed in certain places because of all the chain-link and a couple physics. Anyone know what I can do to remedy this other than completely re-working the whole map?

Re: Why the lag?
How many lights can you see on your screen when you pass these sections? Sometimes it doesnt even matter if the lights are really pointed on these sections then if they are there...

Re: Why the lag?
In one section, I have two lights placed out of view but shining on some objects, so that may explain that but the majority of my lag is in areas where there isn't any lights or one at the most.

Delet the light and see what happens. With the post I wrote before I ment that you can drive in one specific area and see a light across the whole map basically and it will still start lagging even if the light is no way connected to the area you are driving on.

A good way to optimise lights is to make sure the beams don't cross eachother too

Greatly appreciated. I'll give this a try.

Re: Why the lag?
If you have things like explosions going off or lights (as mentioned above), even if they are WAY back in the background, they can cause lag. An excess of objects that are moving on screen at any given time can cause the game to lag as well.
I sent you a friend request, so if you're having difficulty figuring it out, I can always have a look if you share it up.

Re: Why the lag?
That would be great. There's really not much going on in the track other than the couple lights and a lot of fence because of the nature of the track. I'll put it up. "fD_Mansion Escape." The first bit of physics is super sketchy at this point, but I'm hoping to have that fixed in a later edition of the track. I'll get on now and accept the FR.

Have you deleted a lot of room blocks? If the space is too big that will cause lag.

Re: Why the lag?
I've got enough deleted around the main track area that there is no background visible, but with the dust turned all the way up, and the light color giving the appearance of night, that shouldn't be too many should it?
