How does everyone feel about this?

I'm fairly new to the RedLynx forums but I know there's a very strong disapproval for those who attempt to steal tracks, cheat on the leaderboards, or otherwise disregard the rules of human decency. I had an idea today while listening to another monotone lecture about the various literary criticism studies and doodling track ideas in my notebook.

What does everyone think about a tribute track to all of those who inspired me or really fascinated me when I first picked this game up, and even now? My idea would involve taking the parts that I found truly awe-inspiring from anywhere between 5-20 tracks and combining them into one.

I understand that people would want credit for their portion of the track, and I would be very careful to make sure that credit was given. I've come up with a way to force the rider to pause for a second or two whenever I want. I would use this tactic to force the player to pause in front of the GT of the original designer (made clearly from wooden planks), so that it would be very clear who the brains were behind each portion of track. I would be extremely careful to do everything in my power to get each obstacle to look and feel exactly like the original so that it is done justice.

I'm asking you guys what you think about this before ever even narrowing my selected builders to pay tribute to. I want it to be as crystal-clear as possible that I would be paying homage to these creators and not in any way trying to steal ideas. If necessary, I could attempt to contact each person individually (which I figure is the best option anyway) to get their consent before including their property in my track. I know I'm not a renown track designer at this point, but I'd still love the opportunity to do this.

What's your thoughts on the matter?

I say as long as each creator knows and each is given proper credit, then go for it!

Depends - every creator reacts differently, I would ask permission from each creator 1st

The only thing I have to add is that it might be tough to make the track fun if the rider has to wait for a second or two before progressing.

That was my original thought, but i think most riders would appreciate the tribute to the great custom track makers, so this could/couldnt be a problem

Exactly and exactly. It definitely wouldn't be a track you speed-run but I think with the chances being high that there will be a good deal of technical obstacles, there will still be several seconds and faults that separate the boys from the trials-obsessed, overgrown boys!
