    The Xbox Slim is Silly.

    It is!

I never really did any research before I got mine, but when I went to start transferring all my game saves using a memory unit I was stopped in my tracks by the sudden realisation that there were no memory unit slots...

...So now I've lost all my old saves, meaning the majority of my games are now un-playable, because I don't exactly want to start Forza 3 again.

I don't really see the reasoning behind not including the ports but oh well.

P.S. I got my xbox like a month ago, and I've managed to build up a nice collection of about 10 Trials HD Customs.

I remember going through a similar experience when I got my PS3 waaay back when they first came out and where still backwards-compatible. I was looking forward to playing all my old games on one machine, and was suddenly awoken by the kick in the nuts that is technological advancement. Granted, your situation is much worse but hopefully Microsoft will see the need and recognize an opportunity to build a memory card adapter for pennies-on-the-dollar (interchange relative currency here )

I would be an angry little man if my Trials tracks and records where erased.

They remedied this by allowing you to use a standard USB key to store and transfer your data. Just make sure you use a blank USB key, because the XBOX will format it.

If using a USB make sure it has x box minimum specs. But if u go down your local games shop you should be able to buy a transfer cable for the hard drives. There £14.99 $ 20 ??
    Takes about 30 min

If you want to transfer game saves and do some tweaks on your Xbox, you can modify it. You can also use memory stick as an alternative to memory card. Xbox will directly format your USB stick into fatx format. You can use the male connector of your joystick and then connect the wires to a female USB socket. I have tried this and works well. I used 2Gb Kingston. The smaller the capacity of the USB stick, the better. Others have problems in their 4Gb Usb stick.

Although some of this response had some links that I deleted which seemed a little like spam, most of the response seemed to be on topic.

Remember that the USB flash drive must be at least 1 GB in size. I generally buy 4 GB Kingston, as they are the smallest capacity and cheapest available around here ($7), and have not had a problem with them.
