Started happening after doing a clean install with Windows 7, worked on Vista just fine. It happens after playing the game for a few minutes.

do you use the gfx of your motherboard or do you have an external card much as a nVida or ATI it could be if your computer is a bit older the gfx card is no longer fully supported by windows.
Make sure you do a windows update and have a look if your gfx card is supported by windows 7

Have you installed drivers for your graphics card and your sound card? Fresh installs usually have really old and bad drivers.
