[i]Whats up everyone, I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on making slidding door and if you could post some pics, etc. I went through a couple of my theory's and one worked. I used a turbine to make the object move but its not exactly how I want It.[/i]
Triggers are your best friend. (At least for doors that move to open or close in a downward position where gravity will do the work). Disable physics for the "door", place trigger and equip it to turn physics on for your "door."
To open in other directions, same idea but place a hinge on the side of the door (like an actual door has) and equip a trigger to activate physics for a windthink you can do that?
)
Another idea would be to make some elaborate pulley system that is not visible to the rider during play of the track. Much like the elevator on Workshop of Secrets.
that is a good idea but i just perfected how i want my door to be, but i will use your wind idea for a haunted house project.Originally Posted by flcnDrummer
What i used was a metal ramp plate[physics on], attached to a slider[same side] to a turbine[physics off]
then i attached the other side of the slider to a dummy
-linear damper to slow down the door, and a trigger to turn on the turbine,. if you align everything then it should be smooth.
also i put two metal plate on each side of the door slightly off the center line for the door to go in and for a more better looking finish.
