Okay so I'm trying to make a little pond where there is a pipe in the middle that shoots out water kind of like the slrk_ Flower FLOW track if you have ever played it. Anyway how do I make it where the water will shoot out of the pipe?
I've never seen the track, but I can assume that it's an illusion. Make a pipe, select the fastest water, rotate it so that it is shooting in an upward directionknow this doesn't make it shoot upward noticeably, but it gives us a true vertical fount without an arc, which is what we need) Place the water origin above the pipe so that it creates a waterfall on the pipe. You may notice that since you've turned the water fount direction upward, the top can be seen to arc very slightly, which is what you want.
I hope this helps. I could be completely wrong here, but this is the only way I could think to do it.![]()
Here's a couple ways you could make water go up...
Put the water object in or above your pipe. Use a custom floor, like the big silver vent plate or something, and put a piston under the floor, out of view. Glue the water object to the piston. So when the piston pushes upward, your water goes upward. You can trigger the piston or just let it go normal, depending on what you are trying to do.
The other idea I have is to use a couple strong winds underneath your floor, and put the water in the same place as before. No need for gluing this time. The force from the wind(s) should push the water upward with a more constant stream with this method.
Hope that helps!
I messed with putting wind under the water, but for some reason didn't attempt using more than one. I'd say this is closer to what you're looking for.Originally Posted by TheMovement81
The piston idea worked perfect thanks!Originally Posted by TheMovement81
Hey you're welcome. I started messing with that kind of stuff after playing the Flower Flow track as well. After some trial and error I pretty much figured out what was going on, but I guess you could say that ultimately the credit should go to Storcken!
