CRAZY deal for Canadians, impressive projector for 300 bucks
I had a projector and I loved it but it's now doing some serious artifacting and I had to get a new one. I stumbled upon a projector that's usually selling around 600$ for 300$ and after weighing the pros and cons I decided to go with it and I am amazed at how this budget baby performs so before I go into more details here's the info:

and here's the deal:

I am very impressed so far, I'll go with the negative stuff first: The max resolution is 800x600 (sounds bad at first but this isn't so bad) but it is compatible with HDTV and downscales 1080 feeds surprisingly well.
At first, I didn't like the image when plugged it on my PC but got it right by turning off the BrilliantColor feature which made the colors oversaturated on a less than hi-def source but when plugging my X360 it looked great right off the bat on about a 80 inch 16/9 screen. Another minus may be [not sure] but apparently my other projector died early from overuse (used it for too long periods, often 5+ hours straight) and it seems that if you read the fine print it's what you can expect from a LCD projector, this one isn't LCD it's DLP so I don't know about it but I know that I don't care if it breaks after one year of intense use at that price.
The bulb is very expensive to replace, ACTUALLY IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE PRICE OF THE PROJECTOR (with this deal) but it boasts an up to 6000 hour life on eco mode (4500 on normal, almost twice as much as most other competitors), which is more than enough for me, I actually even turn the brightness down and I use eco mode. The last thing is the throw distance, which requires the projector to be around 10 feet from the screen to give a 100 inch 4:3 screen & 85 inch 16/9 screen, my other PJ had a short throw lens so it was better but still the MS510 isn't bad at all for a small room. next post, what I was impressed with

What I was impreesed with actually, was everything else... The luminosity at 2700 lumens ANSI rivals projectors costing over 1000$ and the ratio of 4000:1 isn't too shabby either, the contrast could be better, but like I said this isn't a 1500$ device either and I am very satisfied with the image although it took some tweaking like I said earlier.
Inputs, a picture is worth a thousand words:

YES, HDMI
The thing that impressed me the most though was the refresh rate, can you believe that this device actually boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and is 3D ready? I couldn't but it's true, my other PJ seemed like it lagged while playing Trials HD and only Trials HD but this one doesn't lag one bit.
DLP projector have a bad rep because some people can see a rainbow effect that's very disturbing to some while others don't see it. Apparently DLP projectors are getting better but I read from people that continue to see that effect and suffer headaches and nausea from it even though the technology is getting better by the year. I experienced that rainbow effect with a friend's projector but I can't see it in this one so I was really relieved.
So far it's a solid purchase, it has most of the options that more expensive projectors have:
-remote control
-vertical keystone adjustment (manual)
-manual optical zoom and focus
-a 2w speaker (sounds like a tin can but it's to be expected even with higher priced alternatives)
My best purchase this year
The value at that price is incredible, nuff said, offer ends October 19th or while supplies last.
