So, clearly i'm doing something wrong.

...Groundhog Begins...for platinum I need a time of 21.00 or better.OK. GOTCHA. My average time is like 21.3. The problem is with the gap. I've watched countless replays. spent a good 5 hours trying to beat it. I cannot make the big gap before the part where you go under the platform, but i can make the storter one. My times with the shorter one are 22.00. What I do is attempt the big gap which lines me up to go under the platform. I keep getting the same freakin times and can't seem to get the hang of clearing that gap. Could someone, ANYONE..please try and explain the technique needed to clear that freakin gap. I've tried everything I could think of, but have still not come close to clearing it.

making the big gap and going over the top is really hard. you can still get platinum while doing the shorter gap.

both groundhog begins and groundhog returns are really tough platinums to get

The shorter gap actually slows me down. Either i need to put a few more hours in (oh god) or my rider is mentally challenged. Does this game have an option for training wheels? =P

Watching the top 50 replays is fun, but unless your own score is near the top, its probably an exercise in frustration.

I would encourage you to watch replays closer to your own time, maybe just under the 21sec platinum time.

You'll see a wider variety of lines and techniques, most of which don't clear the big gap. You might also see other small chances for improvement in other parts of the track.

But yes, the Groundhog tracks are some of the more difficult platinums in the game. Good luck!!!

I got stuck on this one as well. I watched Lestropie's replay IRC) and his technique was not the same as the top 5. I managed to mimick his and it went smooth afterwards.

Nail the first part as fast as possible, lightly tap break which should slow you down enough before the main gap shortcut, then punch it and bunny hop onto it. Should get you below platinum, its how I first did it. Got about 19.2 or so using that technique.

the big gap jump is very hard but there is an easy way of doing it when you come the big gap jump simply slow down and go up the first ramp then speed it over the second ramp on the little platform then simply finish the track you should score platinum like that....
thats how i do it in tournament n i usually get 19-20 seconds on that track
    hope this helps you

Not only is doing the big gap jump difficult, but explaining it is difficult too. You have to get a really good jump at the very top of the previous obstacle and come down smoothly in order to go the whole way to the platform.

For my first platinum run on this track, I actually managed to come down, and use the first part of the ramp near the shortcut to launch myself perfectly under it, came back up the other side, and completed the track.

I would have to agree that the easiest way is probably to do the start quickly, use the second part of the ramp, and finish the track.

Good luck. It's a tough one!

Just try and ride smooth, keep your momentum going and stay low as possible!
When it comes down to the last couple of secs (or milliseconds) you have to have your rear wheel down from start to finish wherever possible meaning no big high jumps unless its to clear a certain obstacle.
