Hey guys.
I have an idea for a video but don't have the equipment to do it.
I realise that when we are all playing this great game, we are totally focussed on what is happening on screen. As gamers, we have great hand eye co-ordination and as a result, we never look to see what our hands are donig. With a game like trials, our hands are actually doing quite a lot. My idea for a video is to select a technically challanging track (hard/extreme) and record both the gameplay via capture card, but also a video of the players hands.
What I am thinking is a video that is essentially picture in picture, with the hands as perhaps the largest image with a smaller view of the track at the same time. This would need to be done at the same time, and perfectly alligned (in sync) but I think it would be realy interesting to watch. I don't think we realise how many subtle movements we would be making without even thinking.
It may turn out to be rubbish, but if anyone has some time and the skills, it woud be cool.
Actually been thinking about this for ages but never got around to suggesting it.
Any takers?
Sorta like this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-rpySk1X2Q
I could do it, but I'm not very good at Trials![]()
I would love to know what my hands were doing last night trying to get back in the top 5000 for the very first beginner track (the name has completely slipped my mind). Anyway, point is I got RSI from that one track alone!
If I could get that much speed on every track, I would be a trials god! But I would probably also have wrists the size of my thighs!
Middle name is danger I think... I hate looking at my placings on the beginner or easy tracks. You could be like 12,000th and with a .3 second improvement, make the top 5000... There is just so little between everyone.Originally Posted by Jonofthejungle
I can't watch the link above as I'm at work now but will have a look later tonight.
I was talking about this with a friend at work. He told me he was getting really close to my times and just over a second behind me on most beginner / easy tracks a couple days back but didn't know where he was in the rankings. Next day he checked and they were in the 100000's!Originally Posted by FatShady
Lucky there's not a 'basics of handling' track in THD. the top 5000 would be rediculously hard to beat on a track that takes less than 4 sec!
Just watched the lint. This is the idea. ...anyone thathas the time and equipment, let me know...Originally Posted by Jarr3tt88
ever notice the input display in the bottom right hand corner of your replays?![]()

Again, as I have not watched my hands doing this I am not sure, but I feel that the picture of the hands in real time would be more informative that this. I could be totally wrong...
Well, what I might do is just record my hands at work and see what i come up with. If it is interesting, I'll share it. If it is a completely pointless waste of everyones time... I might still share it.
Cheers,
I hope this is what i have been looking for, but as I am at work i can't watch it. Tonight!
Thanks Heetthink) for posting the vid.
