I'm currently creating a track, and I stopped building the line when the best time for most riders around my level would be about 50-55 seconds. I figured that would be long enough, but also figured that my object limit would have been eaten up by the time I finished decorating.
I have built almost the entire riding structure - you are only riding on actual wall blocks for about a second during the entire track - but I am nowhere near the object limit for some reason. In the first 4 seconds of the track, I have over 100 objects, some of them animated. I have upwards of 10 oceans of fire, and at least 10 wind objects.
Given all this, I am still over 100 objects from reaching the object limit. There is no way that I believe that I am 100 objects from 1000.
Has anyone actually tested to see if you can get more than 1000 objects?
I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure I went way over 1000 on my track Post-Mortem
The 1000 object limit has always been there. The wall blocks do not count towards the object limit, and the glue does not increase the object count. Some composite objects (like the cars) consume more than one object slot.
I imagine most of us reach the file size limit before the object limit. I think I got the object limit once. That is where the complexity meter reads full through out the entire level and you cant put any objects in. File size limit gives you the message telling you to deleate some objects and retry.. Correct me if I am wrong.
Thats exactly it. If the 1000 object limit is reached, the complexity meter is full always, and you cannot place any objects anymore. Majority of tracks hit the file size limit before they reach 1000 objects (unless of course you never save the track and continue spamming objects around until the 1000 object limit is reached).Originally Posted by jook13
Makes me wonder... Why even have an object limit if there is a file size limit? Theoretically you could build a pretty large and detailed track if you keep physics and lighting to a minimum and place objects smartly (objects aligned the same way, snapped to drive line, ect...) With just a file size limit.Originally Posted by sebbbi
I know this is stupid but I keep wishing it was 8.1k or something. I know I would want 8.2k if it was 8.1k but damn if I don't get that too many objects message right as I'm feeling that too epic for words feeling, then, BAM!, I gotta go back and delete some awesomeness. Lol, man 8.05k would work. Any seasoned creator has that sixth sense of when they are a handful of objects away from overload. I hate that feeling, hate it.
File size limit is for online sharing. With the system we use, it's not possible to share larger files. The object limit is there to ensure the levels fit in to the system memory while you play it. Without the object limit you could just spam tens of thousands of objects and the memory would run out (the console would freeze). These two limits serve a different purpose.Originally Posted by jook13

Hi
It's possible to use more than one template within a host or service?
I'm trying to do it in order to have a structured feature set.....but i'm not sure it is working..
thank you
