firstly i apologize for bein lazy cos i know this has been mentioned quite recently (i think by ender) but i couldnt remember where. now im talking about the non-dlc one and specifically the bit where you drop. is there any way of doing this consistently because im very bad at the 'skill' games and it really is time i started working on them. I WILL BE TOP 100 BEFORE THE DLC COMES.
any help would be awesome and feel free to treat me like a complete noob because although im pretty hot on the tracks (mostly) i have put in a tiny amount of time into skill games and i know some people are amazing at them. thanks![]()
After hitting the switch brake a bit to slow the ball down then get dead centre of the ball as it's about to drop. You'll probably land slightly to the left anyway so just gas to avoid falling back.
I always used to fail on this bit, if you mean after you hit the switch and roll back then drop. However if you position yourself directly on the middle-top of the ball as it's about to fall, you've got a 75% chance of landing it, remember to either gas it or brake depending on how you land.
Also, when you get to the RoF skill game I got a big tip; Learn the route! That's it.![]()
thanks for the help, wednesdays my next day off and ill be hitting them skill games HARD![]()
Took me 10 minutes to find, the whole thing is on the 2nd page of the global+dlc rank thread. Here's the part on that gametypeOriginally Posted by WILLYUMZ
I wouldn't do it like the guy in first, i'm not sure about 2nd or 3rd, but i think the way i do is best. Smack the trigger while on the backside of the ball, pump the gas a couple times to end up on top when it drops. Watch my replay at 4 and i think you'll get it. Once you get that on the very next drop down(2 ledges sorta) take that first one pretty slow while on top, and the next ledge will bounce you up a bit, before it bounces you give it the slightest bit of gas and you should land it. Again watch the top cpl replays to see how they do it. Then you should make it to the major dropdown. You can make it without ricochet but it's rare, you have to bounce it and land it, very hard to do.Originally Posted by ender3
If you have trouble with the first drop the dlc otb is gonna give you trouble.
It's funny cause you've mentioned you hate the skill games and they suck etc...but if you've never spent any time on them then you aren't the best judge imo.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ
I'm not gonna blow sunshine up your *** and tell you every single game is fun. I don't enjoy delivery or ski jump or hill climb, but i'll tell you once you get a "i don't have to **** with this anymore" score it feels pretty good.
Some of them are pretty useful once you learn how. I use the stuff i learned mastering the loose screw gametype all the time. Whenever i'm not doing well or need warmup i go fly around orig target hunt. When i'm waiting for my customs to load i go to orig fliphunter and try to get that one more flip i need to tie my competition (jay & coldiman) in that gametype.
So give them a go, they're not as simple as the tracks, but once you learn how to do what each discipline takes there's fun to be had. if you need tips askOriginally Posted by WILLYUMZ![]()
I love skill games, theyre fun, they get you high on the leaderboards, there where I have my highest ranking( 874th on inside the ball dlc still noobish lol), and I think the people who hate them usually arent as good or just like tracks better, I actually love all the ones you mentioned ender the ones I hate are flip hunter, height jump(non dlc) and target hunt(feels inconstent
)
the first height jump was what started my love affair with the skill games, that's the first one i started to do just for fun and one day i got a freakin sweet replay on it. It's also where i learned to work those flippers. which has payed off in a couple other skill games. i actually just linked the vid in the "how long it take to get good thread" twas my first youtube vid, check it outOriginally Posted by Zoidberg747
with all the skill games i love i've found some way to make them fun. for height and target it was to do crazy flips, for loose screw it was to land as much as possible on my back wheel which is awesome imo.
don't know what to tell you on the inconsistant, just play it enough, get a route, and eventually you'll know what you can get away with and what reactions your actions cause. I think orig target hunt has the coolest top 10, other than one guy all the top 10 are all-stars and have great replays. when season 2 over i'm gonna go for a higher score/replay.
