Xbox Live Arcade on a phone

Seems that the new Microsoft phones will have full Xbox Live Arcade support with gamertags, achievements, avatars, learderboards, multiplayer, etc. The launch titles do not seem that bad at all:

There's nothing as technically advanced as Trials HD, Battlefield, Toy Soldiers or Shadow Complex in the lineup, but it's nice to see the launch games already match the best iPhone games (both technically and in game play).

Cool but you should really consider porting Trials HD to Iphone or write a new simplified Trials.
The new Iphone 4 with gyro support is simply amazing in some supported games and I can imagine the devs will think of many new ways to use the gyro and in trials it seems it would be perfect for tilting the bike.

I for one love it, and I have had alot of HTC phones with both Windows Mobile and android but iphone is better in my opinion.

Gamewise its not even a competition thats why it would be cool with a trials like game for it.

The new Droids beat the iPhone 4 hands down. You can still enjoy it more, but it's not as good a phone.

As for a gaming phone, why not look into the Windows Phone 7? they should be able to run some of the XBLA games, and they unlock achievements and I think Avatar awards.

A version of Trials for the WP7 (maybe T2SE?) would be awesome.

Performance wise the Galaxy (which I have owned aswell also a nexus and a HTC Desire) might be more powerful but the games still doesnt compare.

No phone as of today comes close to the Iphone regarding games (in my opinion and I have tried ALOT).
Windows Phone 7 will not even be a contender I am afraid, its only IOS and Android from here on.
Also had a HTC Touch HD with win mobile 6 and 6.5 and it sucked quite alot (although i miss some things).

Iphone to Android is what xbox 360 (ps3, wii) is to a PC.
By that I mean that Iphone games are written specifically for the iphone (they work at the correct speed etc like for the console) and doesnt have 100 different configurations and hardware.
Android is only a OS and has several phones with different performance and thats why some games will probably work good on some phones and suck on other android phones.

I remember this specifically when there was alot of games for HTC Diamond and although these games worked on the HTC HD they sucked since the performance and screen was totally different.

However if Trials somehow finds its way onto a WP7 device I´ll seriously have to reconsider (or buy a second phone)

Re: Xbox Live Arcade on a phone

As phones with the WP7 os must meet some pretty demanding specs (for a phone) I don't see how you can say that they won't run correctly.

It's like running Windows XP on any computer made in the last 10 years, it won't be a problem. The games are being created with a pretty low baseline, so they should all run smoothly on any WP7 phone.

I would rather have a good phone that I can play some games on instead of a game device-mp3 player-Video Player I can make some calls on. The iPhone is a great device, but a pretty poor phone.

Just my opinion about the iPhone.

I would LOVE to see Trials on WP7. I recently became a trials addict and I wouldn't mind killing time with it at work.
