I'm afraid a poll isn't going to settle anything
It comes down to personal preference on the handling, as well as which did you play first, and what is your gaming system of choice, amoung other things.
My only gripe with Trials HD is that I prefer tracks that can be completed in around 30seconds as opposed to the 1min+ that TrialsHD has, with shorter tracks it's easier to go back to the start, and more possible to get a 'perfect' run.

If you look at http://www.redlynxtrials.com/HighscoresSearch.action you will notice that majority of tracks are between 20-40 seconds in both games. There are some exceptions (like Where's the Ground on both games taking more than 50 seconds to pass and Diablo/Diabolic being the longest track in both games). On average the tracks are of similar length in both games.

Oh, I didn't realise that. I stand corrected.

as for the 12:1 ratio... it would be interesting to know the ratio of players/forum posters for each game. Also how many of the voters have spent time with each game.

I picked Trials HD, but I enjoy and appreciate T2SE for what it is.

I would LOVE it if Trials HD had multicam views (or at least a couple) like as in T2SE.

Another plus for T2SE is ghosts! The friend comparison tool is neat but it takes your concentration off the bike for a split second to look up.

    If I had to rate them: Trials HD - 95/100 T2SE - 90/100

Re: Trials HD vs. Trials 2

I'm gonna bump this to praise T2SE, sorry.

I'm sure if you were to ask people like QC and Lestropie who've played a lot of both, you'll hear THD. As with most games, the successive releases are going to have a lot of improvements, particularly in the areas of graphics, controls, and level design.

That said, Trials 2 has 'simpler' controls, which I like. There's something about watching the top 10 players' replays and seeing the exact keystrokes you'd need to duplicate their perfect runs... It just dares you to try it. Plus, the simpler visual style makes the T2SE levels seem more straightforward to me. No explosions, no swinging around on things or dodging pendulums. Just you, the obstacles, and the finish line. In general, the simplicity of T2SE works in it's favor. One type of bike, a few straightforward levels, and a ton of replayability.

Plus, I may be the only person who says this, but limiting the number of levels available forces users to perfect the track for a good rank. You wind up becoming extremely familiar with the tracks available to you, which is evidenced by the absolutely graceful runs you see at the tops of the leaderboards. Those runs exhibit a nearly complete mastery that I don't detect in the replays I've seen from THD. (Absolutely no offense meant THD players, but seriously, watch Pebe, NorfaiR, Akam, Degn, etc.)

There's probably no reason I wouldn't like THD more if I had an XBox, and I'm really glad that the game's so popular. But my loyalty lies with T2SE, since it's probably the best game I've ever played. Maybe I'll try THD and like it more someday... Or, even better, I'll get a beta invite for Trials 3 and finally get a chance at a #1 on the leaderboards.

Your points are true, this is a preference poll, and more people on these forums prefer thd, but one factor i thought of was the fact that a lot of trials 2SE players probably left the forums and maybe dont get on I think theyre both great, the editor is the main reason i say THD is a tiny bit better imo
