The stock bike weighs ~30lbs and with the engine ~58lbs so yes it may be heavy if you consider it a bike but really light if you consider it a moped. I consider it a worthy trade-off, but next year I'll buy another bike with a wider triangle to fit two 48V batteries and two 1500W engines, which will propell me to speeds up to 110 km/h if I ever wish to go that fast with a moutain bike which is unlikely but the acceleration up to 70-80 km/h is going to be phenomenal! too bad you missed the cannondale jon, id kill for one of those or a transition. ive heard the carbons dont hold up as well either, but i havent heard anything about all the 2011 models yet.
