Yes, we did see the possibility of removing the patch, hence we slightly modified the track format and it should now be impossible to open the new tracks with an unpatched build.

One final question then.
I have two template tracks that I made way before this patch.
If I use these as my starter and save to a new file, will the track still be protected?

Yes, as long as you re-save it

I'll take 420's word here,

However if they were made before the new DLC contest start date and you try to use them as an entry you will be denied entry.

Even if you rename and resave. They check that.

You can also just re save all your old tracks to prevent anyone from stealing them, if you're worried. Any level file that has been saved after the patch is un glitchable ..I think.

Let me get this straight--if I haven't recently saved old tracks they can be stolen?! What date do we need it to be after?

Also can somebody see who is on this guy's friend's list right now? Is there anybody we know?

The new track format takes a few bytes of the max possible track payload. If you have totally optimized the track size to the maximum value before the patch, you may need to remove few objects to be able to save the track in the new format.

Of course if they already have your old tracks that were not saved after the patch they could be sharing those
